Breaking: Match Stopped due to Ref accused of Racism

Match was due to resume at 9pm without the Fourth Official present

But the Istanbul players still refused to play if he became a VAR official

When the referee asked the Fourth Official which member of the Istanbul Basaksehir staff needed to be sent off, the Fourth Official responded by saying "the black guy".


The Champions League clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir descended into chaos on Tuesday night after both sets of players walked off amid allegations of racism by the fourth official, Sebastian Coltescu. The match was suspended midway through the first half.

The fourth official during the PSG vs. Istanbul Basaksehir has been accused by both sets of players of being racist towards a member of the Istanbul staff...

Just seen the video which has Demba Ba accusing official of referring to a player ‘as this black guy here’ but other sources saying n-word used. Insane.

Why does he call him the black buy? Why can't he just to which member of staff it was?

Well done to the Istanbul Basaksehir players and staff for walking off, correct thing to do in my opinion.

Wont restart both sides want different conditions to restart game but there is no replacement fourth official anyway

Whats most shocking is that this has come from an official. Fair play to both teams for handling themselves so well, and for walking off.

Apparently there were two incidents, one where the 4th officials refers to assistant as an N bomb, and then another where he refers to assistant as 'this black guy'.

Watched both and each appears to have its merits of being 'racist'

Players right to walk off until it's sorted? 100% and congratulations to both sets of players

For the game not to be played to a finish tonight? Not too sure on that one but it does seem no other 'official' was available to take the place of the accused official, so probably right
