Jan window recruits

Mon Dec 07, 2020 12:22 pm

Anyone else keen on bringing in a new striker? Some support for Moore? Don’t get me wrong as nice Glatzel seems let’s face it he’s not going to start reliably scoring.

Despite 3 clean sheets I still think we need to be tighter at the back. When we’ve been truly tested this season we’ve come undone.

Extra striker and defensive midfielder would be incredible business. There’s a lot of Prem players aching to get some game time. Let’s hope Tan and Choo release some funds.

To be honest I don’t think we need major surgery.

Additions for me would be an additional right back and maybe someone a little more commanding in midfield.

I like bacuna as an option in midfield so I think we lose some bite with him at right back.

I like glatzel. Harris is emerging well. Wilson can play further forward.

If we can shift Murphy then someone to replace him.

I can’t see us doing major surgery though. In normal
Times it wouldn’t be ideal.

I think we need to get players in that will aid consistency though.

If vassell isn’t going to play this season then I think we should cut our losses.

If we only make one signing then it needs to be a right back. We need cover for Tutu so bacuna can play back in the middle.

I tend to agree with all your posts and this one is no different. We don’t need a massive overhaul and ain’t going to get one. Another right back option is definitely a priority.

Don't expect much, as January is a notoriously bad time to do business

But the addition of a right back and maybe a midfielder who can help Wilson and do the job of the seemingly injury-prone Tomlin (I'd still like to see him back in the squad) would see us pretty much set

We have a better 'squad' than many give the club credit for :ayatollah:

That’s a good point on the midfielder because we probably won’t see much of Tomlin this season by the time he’s match fit.

A right back would be good. Anything extra would be a bonus IMO.

Under normal circumstances January is a difficult window to get a lot of business done anyway. Cant see this one being any different. Pack can't play in a 2 man midfield so we need bacuna back in the middle so we can rotate him, vaulks and ralls.
As has been said above, a rb is a must. Anything else is a bonus. But it would be nice to see someone come in to replace Tomlin.

Agreed, desperately short of options at right back. Maybe delve into the free agent market, someone like Kieron Freeman who used to be at Sheffield United.

In fairness we look fairly solid elsewhere and, bar the disasterous starts we’ve had in a few games, should probably have had atleast a couple more points by now.

Cm built like a shit house = Pack
Striker with pace = Vassell
No 10 = Murphy

Of course I Josh but buying players is always difficult and whose to say we will get any better?

We need a right back, and a decent solud box to box midfielder with a bit of bite.
I like glatzel,so no need for another striker imo,he has hardly played a full game this season, because moore has been on fire, but he will play his part this year.

Even if Choo/Tan grants spending I'm not convinced Harris and his team have the ability to see what we need and spend to improve the squad.
