What have the managers said

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris:

"I watched them [Wednesday] night against Nottingham Forest, and over the course of the season, and they have got good players.

"They are a team who will think they should be standing out in the Championship this season and returning to the Premier League.

"We know it’s a tough challenge but I’m not too fussed about what they are doing, I’m focused on us.

"It just echoes what I’ve been saying the last few days, it’s about our standards, qualities and what we do.

"We have to stop the opposition, tactically it has to be right, no individual errors but the football has to be as positive as the last two games.

"I think we are a match for any team.

"I thought Bournemouth were very good against us. Other than that I haven’t seen many teams who have been better than us this season.

"But we don’t fear anybody in the division, that’s for sure."

Watford boss Vladimir Ivic:

“We know that in this moment with a lot of games we need to rest some players, like you see with Craig [Cathcart] and his hamstring [injury late on at the City Ground].

“Both of them [Cathcart and Christian Kabasele] did a good job until now, we know in this position we also have William Troost-Ekong, Ben Wilmot and Francisco Sierralta. In this position we are complete...I have other positions that are problems for me, not central defender. We need to complete our roster.

“We believe that in the next days some of the players will come to help us who have stayed out for different reasons – some of them being injured and some having COVID – so we will see what’s going to happen in the next days.”
