People only see the death rate but really they should look at positive tests. Britain count you if you have it in your system when you die which is totally different to other countries. Spain for example have had over 1.6 million cases but somehow dropped from hundreds of deaths a day to single figures over night. China only count deaths actually caused by Covid. America are basket cases and are overrun on both counts.
Our government spent a fortune keeping everyone afloat financially whilst trying to treat us with respect by not locking us up like animals like other countries who then followed suit. Its looking like the British way was one of the best.

Been banging on for ever that the figure of 60k that is used is not actually covid deaths but with it a very big difference! As for country response lots countries total lockdown for lot onger and still had 2nd wave! And sure the deaths would match ours if measured same way...

I agree
In fairness I dont think any country got it right and all have in reality failed but some definatly changed criteria to make it look better, at least the UK were honest over figures even though it looks awful. In early May , Spain for example were way ahead of the UK on both cases and deaths but miraculously went from over 500 a day to single figures over night.
They have had over 1.6 million cases even though they treated citizens like animals and locked them up. We apparently did the wrong thing and allowed excersize but have a lot less cases.
We were told by some that we were doing everything wrong and werd irresponsible but as soon as other countries relaxed rules then it was all of a sudden acceptable.
We count anyone who dies as a covid death as long as they had a positive test in the previous 28 days even if they had a heart attack or got hit by a bus.
I think given the circumstances and the support the government have given the public then they have done a half decent job and probably the best they could do.

I agree people have gone overboard criticising boris because of what happened elsewhere but in reality they've suffered just as badly even with stricter lockdown and longer! Will truth come out over real amount of deaths doubt it as never established real cause of death in 1st place......as you say die of heart attack but counted as covid death because they had it?

I still say it,dying of or with covid are vastly different,if you have stage 4 incurable cancer, with months or weeksleft to live, its daft to count it as covid death, and very, very misleading@
At the height of Italy's 1st wave, only 15% of death certificates issued, stated covid as actual reason for death, the rest were recorded as the cause of death,ie cancer, heart attack etc,but WITH covid as a side note.
