Less than a month to go until the January window opens, it's

Less than a month to go until the January window opens, it's come around so quickly.

Shrewd business is key.

A few outgoings, permanent and loan, could free up money for right back, No.10 and maybe winger/creative centre mid.

We need to do a deal with players like Isaac Vassell and move dead wood out.

If we are to challenge for the play offs Harris will need backing in January if he is still here :bluebird: :bluebird:

As for me if Harris is here then, he is here till at least May.

It’s a mystery why after 2months Filip Benkovic had not played as he has not been injured and arrived fully fit( yes was a bit unwell this week) but the other 7 weeks fully fit.

Annis, harris clearly stated he was not match fit when he arrived, and took time to get up to speed, and only a few weeks ago, stated he was now up to speed, and fit if called on.if he has been unwell, could be what glatzel had,as there are stacks of viruses going around,my niece's boyfriend was admitted to hospital 2 days ago,and has been kept in,but has been waiting since going in,for scans and lumbar punch!!!

A right back for sure.

Release Vassell, sell Glatzel. sell Cunningham. Release Day.

Sign RB permanent. 2 x strikers one loan and one permanent.

So 4 out 3 in, would represent a decent window. With Jordi back we would then have options at RB, and it would also release Bacuna back to the middle of the park.

Right back, wide player and two midfielders. one can only hope.

And Leicester stated he had had a full pre-season trading and we are now 2mths later, surely you find it odd?

Seeing as we have very little money as it is, I don't think we are going to be able to just release players? We would have to pay up their contract surely. Unless it was terminated with mutual consent.

I agree with what you say apart from Glatzel. So mine would be - 1x RB & 1x Striker/#10

Not arguing mate, just repeating what was said by harris, who said he wasnt match fit.he has been on the bench until last game, where it has since been explained he was unwell,I find it frustrating more than strange tbf,as what I have seen of him,he is a decent player.

Ideal situation (won't happen though)

Out:
Loan out Day for the remainder of his contract.
Loan/sell cunningham - bagan is more than capable and would give him more game time if he's backup to Bennet.
Loan out whyte - personally I like him, but Harris doesn't seem to rate him
Sell Murphy (lol) - has got the potential but can't find any sort of form.

In:
A rb - a decent replacement or backup to Tutu.
Winger - new winger needed. Hoilet is getting on a bit, Murphy not consistent, whyte not rated by Harris, wilson wasted out wide.
No.10 - need cover for Wilson and Tomlin.

Whatever happens we definitely need a rb! If we only make one signing we need cover at rb.

Yeah lets just release them! If only it was that easy eh? And sorry but sell glatzel and get 2 more strikers in? In january as well??
We would have to pay up contracts, which means their wages, which doesnt mean that we can get more players in to replace them, way too expensive option imho.

Can't see this being a busy window at all, to be honest. I reckon two/three out and one/two in.

Keepers
Smithies/Phillips - sell or loan Day

So none in and one out

Defence:
Right-back- one needed ASAP/Tutu
Left Back - Bennet/Bagan
Centre Back - Morrison/Nelson/Benkovic - move Bamba onto player coach role

I rate Cunningham highly but can't see where he fits in and should be able to get some money for him as he is a decent championship player so cash in if possible.

so one in and one out

Centre midfield
Ralls/Vaulks/Bacuna all good for a more dynamic midfield.
Pack for when we need to slow the game down (like we used to use McPhail)

so none out and none in

Wide/Attacking Midfield
Wilson/Ojo - should be starters as often as possible both ooze class
Tomlin - game-changer if we can get him fit.
Hoilett - intermittent but class on his day.
Murphy - if we can cash in and replace him with someone more consistent I'd let him go, but wouldn't mind seeing him stay if only he could reach his potential. Still think he should be a striker, not a winger.
White - good enough for a regular cameo against tiring legs at this level, backup but nothing more, but can't see us replacing with better for a place on the bench.

So none out and none in or one out one in depending on if we can sell and replace Murphy

Strikers
Moore/Harris/Glatzel offer decent options. Early days but Harris could be set for a breakthrough season and there is more to come from Glatzel, there is a decent striker lurking in there - hopefully, his excellent goal against Huddersfield will give him confidence ot push on.
No one is going to sign Vassell while he's injured so we're stuck with him lets just hope he finally gets fit.

so none out and none in

The current squad is good enough for the playoffs, I'd say is a better squad than last year:

Moore massive upgrade of Pato,
Harris as good as in not an upgrade on Ward (potentially)
Benkovic and upgrade on FLint (apparently ;) )
Ojo as good as if not an upgrade on NML
Bagan an upgrade on Jazz

Connely and Bogle didn't figure in the side at all.

League is not as good as it was last season where Fulham/West Brom/Leeds and Brentford were head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. Is set to be a lot tighter this year and I don't think we need much other than a right back to be up there.

I'd rather see us live in within our means and If needed bring some youth through and let them sink or swim as we've done with Bagan and Harris.
