Why is first goal so important?

Wed Dec 02, 2020 1:33 pm

Is it anything to do with no fans?

Is it a lack of something at our club?

What would have happened had Morrison’s goal v Coventry stood? Would we have seen 7 goals last 2 games?

not sure how much this has changed or has changed at all across the board during restrictions.. but its been score 1st and your chances of winning are about 70% , chances of not losing 85% ..

our record under Harris its score first ...chances of winning 90% drawing 5% . losing 5%

i do think it is a huge thing, with fans you have something pushing you on, to get back into the game, with no atmosphere, i do think the first goal seems to be a confidence killer and no crowd to get you going again is having a big effect

our record regarding scoring first under Harris has not changed that much tbh...with crowds it was 87% wins..13% draw... with most coming away from home
