‘ Kieffer Moore ‘

Wed Dec 02, 2020 6:59 am

Neil Harris lauded Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore after his two goals helped thrash Huddersfield Town 3-0.

Well-taken goals in each half against the Terriers ensured Moore took his personal tally to seven for the season and looks a better acquisition with each passing game.

Against Huddersfield, he was a complete handful at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday evening, ragging the Terriers defenders all across the park before popping up with two strikers' finishes.

And manager Harris waxed lyrical about the forward's display in another important win for the Bluebirds.

NEIL HARRIS:

"Again, he has bullied the centre-halves for the 75 minutes he was on the pitch," Harris said after the match.

"He is looking like a top acquisition by the club.

"He was a handful in the air, he is quick when he runs down the sides, he is taking care of the ball for us and scoring goals at the moment.

"He is making life very difficult for the opponents. Huddersfield changed to a three to deal with him and Mark Harris and I thought he was a real handful again."

The Bluebirds were excellent all over the pitch on Tuesday, starting with a high press which forced the Terriers defenders into making mistakes.

That is how Moore's second goal came about, when Junior Hoilett nabbed the ball from Naby Sarr inside the penalty area before squaring it to the striker for an easy tap-in.

And that work at the top end of the pitch is crucial to Cardiff, Harris said, believing the attitude and desire must start up top.

The Bluebirds manager compared Moore's importance to Wales with the work Harry Kane does for Tottenham, believing the key players up top set the standards for the rest of the side.

NEIL HARRIS:

"If you play with two strikers, then it's all about them. They set the tone for the team," Harris added.

"We started with two strikers who can run and have big hearts and are willing to do that.

"Spurs are very good at the moment because of Harry Kane. No disrespect to Jose Mourinho, he is a legend, and there are very good players around him, but Harry Kane sets the tempo.

"Kieffer Moore and Gareth Bale do that for Wales and the players around them are very good.

"He is very important to us."

Two more Kieffer goals, 1st from Ojo getting beyond full back to cross with left foot. How long hv we been calling for that kind of service for the big man? New look team much better balanced, energetic, vibrant, attacking. :bluebird: :bluebird:

I agree Annis. I’ve said in an earlier post that if we can get quality ball in to him, Moore will do really well for us.

Not bad for a donkey eh? I wonder what he'll be worth if he gets 10 by xmas. Worked hard off the ball too.

He’s scoring goals, puts himself about, gets into good positions more often than not and plays for wales.
We’ve been crying out for a striker like for a long time, I personally can’t find anything negative to say about him. :bluescarf:

7 goals already for Moore, only

Tomlin (8) scored more Champ goals for Cardiff all last season

Only three Champ players have scored more goals than Moore so far this season :bluebird:

Annis its looking more and more like an attacking 442 sort of formation we are playing, i just hope harris doesnt decide to pick pack in the middle. when you play against a 5 man midfield, you need energy, mobility to get around otherwise you get over run, and i fear if we put pack in, it could spell trouble

He's doing a great job. It's not easy playing upfront for Cardiff, as we've seen over the last few years, he's scoring goals and working his bollocks, I agree I am both surprised and impressed, well done Kiefer keep it going. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Think Moore is a real ‘find’ for us and Wales.
He has got better as he has played with better players...
A late developer and not the journeyman that some have called him.
For such a big fella, he does so much work off the ball chasing back etc...
Arguably one of our best permanent signings since Medel
