Swansea City announce huge reduction in 2021/22 season ticket renewal prices

Swansea City have announced the pricing list for 2021/22 season ticket renewals

Be interesting what Cardiff will charge and how our current season ticket money will be used, especially for those who dont use up money watching it on tv? :bluebird: :bluebird:

As much as we dislike the Jacks, their board are looking after their fans.

Jacks Could be in Premier League

£99 for adults IN ALL STANDS
£79 for over-65s and students IN ALL STANDS
£49 for under-18s IN ALL STANDS
£23 for under-12s IN ALL STANDS

By Ian Mitchelmore

Tuesday 1st December 2020

Swansea City have slashed their season ticket renewal prices for the 2021/22 campaign.

Fans have not been able to attend fixtures so far this term while they also missed the run-in last season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, with news of a vaccine potentially being rolled out in the near future while supporters are also gradually returning to stadiums in England, it is hoped we could have some kind of normality by the time the next campaign begins.

Following discussions with the Supporters' Trust, the club have confirmed their pricing structure for 2021/22 season ticket renewals.

The renewal window opened on Tuesday, December 1, for current season ticket holders who either took the option for streaming and kept revenue in the club during the pandemic, as well season ticket holders who have opted for monthly refunds.

Supporters who have initially selected the monthly refund plan, but are yet to withdraw monies from their ticketing account balance via the account cashback facility, may request to opt out of the monthly refund option.

If there are supporters who have opted for monthly refunds and have already withdrawn funds to your bank account, but wish to renew at the new prices, you can contact the ticket office and arrange to return your withdrawn funds to the club before renewing.

Season ticket holders who elect to opt out of, or return, their monthly refunds to renew at the new prices will receive a streaming code to access SwansTV Live coverage of all remaining home league games and midweek away league games.

It means fans who have previously withdrawn funds into their bank accounts will be financially equal - once they've returned those funds - to those who left their money in the club.

The prices for 2021/22 season tickets, for those season ticket holders mentioned above, have been confirmed as:

£99 for adults IN ALL STANDS
£79 for over-65s and students IN ALL STANDS
£49 for under-18s IN ALL STANDS
£23 for under-12s IN ALL STANDS

This equates to just £4.30 per game for adults, £3.43 per game for over-65s and students, £2.13 per game for under-18s and just £1 a match for under-12s.

Given the current climate, the club have also removed the early bird window in a bid to ease the pressure on supporters when it comes to renewing their season tickets.

The renewal window with the offer prices outlined above is open until Sunday, February 28, 2021.

A club statement read: "We want our fans to ‘Be proud to be a Jack’. We know our club is different because our fans make us very special. During these hard times, we want our supporters to know that better days are coming and that we will be reunited again at our home, the Liberty Stadium, in the future.

"Although we can’t be together right now, we need the Jack Army more than ever before.

"Throughout these unprecedented times, our 2020-21 season ticket holders have shown unrivalled support. We did not foresee that this season’s season ticket holders would not be allowed to be at games to support Steve Cooper’s team for such a long period of time.

"As a result, we feel this is the right time to show our loyal 2020-21 season ticket holders how much we appreciate your understanding with the current circumstances."

“So those who paid this season, will get a full refund and can buy at these prices for next season.”

General sale of season tickets will be announced at a later date.

The club will give a further update on season tickets in the New Year.

Not really bothered what other clubs fans pay for st... I got my two knowing wont be attending so got freebie next season! There will be other clubs no doubt looking at this deal and may do similar but majority will leave things alone , but I'm sure there will be fans lambasting club for not following this lead . :old:

It’s an interesting one to balance, I’m not sure how the Jacks have been handling season tickets this season in regards to refunds/TV vouchers/discounted etc but this could be a huge financial hit for them.

If they’re refunding every game that ST holders can’t attend this season and offering such cheap season tickets next year there’s a possibility that they’re only getting 15-20% of their usual Season Ticket revenue over the course of 2 seasons. Will be interesting to see how their financial situation compares to clubs with less of a reduction in 21/22 or clubs who are doing TV vouchers instead of refunds.

Don’t think it’ll really hit them that hard financially. They haven’t got many existing season ticket holders I believe.

Credit to the Swansea Board for announcing early; but for those already slating the Bluebirds stance, just remember (a) no announcements have been made or are due at this point, and (b) the reduction on next season's tickets will be pretty huge anyway, if the current trend (particularly in Wales) is to keep supporters from the stadiums

Cardiff's season tickets in the Canton have been really good ever since we moved to the CCS.

Be interesting to see how many the jacks sell be embarrassing if they don't get 15,000 at that price.

Great prices, fair play!
Here in Germany our local team are offering lifetime season tickets to those who buy a ticket for the first game where fans are allowed back in. They're hoping to get 10,000 ticket sales - Tennis Borussia Berlin.

Chris not sure why there should be big discounts next season assuming it ko on normal date ! Doesn't matter if only 10k allowed in if anything ST will be like gold dust so keep their value to club.... lots will have discount or free renuals depending on rest of this season available next season anyway.

Many people have lost their jobs and will be financially worse off. There is likely to be some level of inflation too, making your money worth less than it would have before Covid. With that said, clubs are also likely to have decreased costs during this period, meaning they are also able to offer cheaper tickets.

I think its also worth noting that during this period many people will be come conditioned, and may not be comfortable being out in public, especially crowded spaces. This is my thought process at least.

Yes which makes it a fair conundrum for club there is around 10k I suspect that bought ST it's a lot of money for club to lose on top of massive losses for this season if they rip up ST and charge less for next season? I for one wont blame club if dont give discount as I knew wouldn't get in this season when bought ST so happy just to use it next season

I think Cardiff need to do some sort of reduction. We should be a community club and many in Cardiff and the surrounding areas will have found themselves out of work during this pandemic, unable to afford the usual prices. Being able to simply attend football matches could be really beneficial, mentally and socially for these people, so I hope Cardiff follow suit.

Spot on post that, club needs to put its local community first and follow Swansea's lead.

99 pound anywhere in ground is superb value. Might even get more in when virus over.

Id buy now for 21-22 season if they roll it out. They can take my shielding deposit of 30£ off as well, lol, lol. 70 bucks , fu... marvellous.

Also why is seemed as crying when when the working man and his fellow colleagues speals up against the blatant exploitation of its fan base.

Football and other big corps have been shafting us for years. Dont stick up for them and turn on people at your own level.
