Jyst read an article about Newcastle may be willing to accept £5m for the striker, would the board push the bost put? I doubt it myself, but he would be that missing 20 goal striker we crave! Got 23 when last in championship I think? Msybe more.now that would light the club up! And make us a serious proposition for anyone.
Whats yoour thoughts? And please,no slagging of the owner etc.

No chance mate unless they want to do a swap deal for Murphy we done our dough on Moore so he will end up at a club going for promotion at the end of the transfer window unfortunately as he is has good at it comes at championship level and will be the difference when going for the prem

Tbf,this was my thinking.would they have a go for him,if we are still within touching distance? In the article it mentions Wednesday as interested? I know they got money, but at £5m,he would/could be the signing that gets us over the line imo.
Didn't realise we gave him so much stick,I'm shocked Sven

I can remember being at Peterborough away under Malky I think and we have him pelters. He was clearly a good player and was a bit of a shit fouling our boys and throwing himself to the floor whenever we went near him. Did the job for them though I think they won by a few. Very much out of our price range I’d think unless we were in the top 6 come January then maybe tan would feel it was worth a punt

£5m is nothing these days, but I don't think we will be doing much business in the January window. Not that we don't need to, but I don't think that there will be much of a budget, if any, to spend.
That being said, I would love Gayle here. He would kind of fit into the 'Small, quick, goal poaching' mould - similar to Chopra.
Then Moore would be the 'Hold up player, big, target man' similar to Bothroyd.
How many of us would love to have a similar partnership like Chops and Bothroyd with us now

Always thought he'd suit us after he scored Peterboroughs winner here in our first promotion season. May not be as quick as he was, but still think he'd suit our 442 formation with Moore and him, better than Moore and Glatzel.

Sadly, it would be £5million plus £20,000 + per week wages for someone who will undoubtedly score goals at this level, but he does get injured quite a lot too. I remember that game where Peterborough were the first team to beat us at CCS - I think it was the promotion season under Malky, but he tore us to pieces with his pace and only Marshall kept the score respectable.

Don't think it would happen but if Newcastle were willing to loan him out we could go for him but I would imagine he would go to a struggling premier club or a championship club hoping for automatic promotion. Maybe Mark Harris will get a load of goals for us or possibly Harry Wilson. Moore will score his share.

I really rate him at championship level and him, Moore and Wilson would be fabulous but can’t see him coming ....unless we are in the top 6 when the window opens.
