British migrants in EU coming home?

Mon Nov 30, 2020 5:44 pm

Only allowed to live in EU countries for 3 months out of 12.

Does this affect anyone on here?

I hear that British banks are also suspending British bank accounts of people not living in the UK.

Very strange times.

Watch the Spanish property market collapse.
Will the same apply in reverse with EU citizens living in the UK?

Looks like a workaround there, go for three months come back for however long and then go back, but it is sure to drive down Spanish prices and put brits off.

Hopefully, we will give them the same back, would many people from the EU have homes in the UK though?

Annis can tell us, I know a few who have relocated to Spain and they were dead against Brexit, and still are.

I can confirm this isn't true. I live in Germany, those of us already here have been given permanent residency.

It’s not true.. its 3 in 6 months not 12..you can apply for a residency or visa to stay longer.

They aren't new EU rules. They apply to all 'third countries'.

If you vote to end freedom of movement don't get angry when your freedom of movement ends. Simple.

You can still live in Spain full time if you wish, you just have to apply for residency. After the transition period you can also apply but more expensive. Property market is booming and brits still buying.

We aren't classed as third country yet. You'll also need an International driving license as of 01/01/21 if coming on holiday, if you live there you'll need a Spanish license.

Poor people just have to spend more time doing staycation! Not a hardship is it... besides how many effected people actually spend a longer than 3months in holiday homes?
Ps bet not all of them voted remain either :D
