MY VIEW / OPINION

TODAY I BELIEVE WAS WIN OR GOODBYE NEIL HARRIS & HARRIS CITY TEAM THRASHED LUTON TOWN TEAM TODAY

Harris gambled big time today upfront and it paid off :bluebird: :bluebird:

Attacking is Harris at his best and it needs to be seen in more matches, 3pts well deserved by City & Harris.

Huddersfield home this Tuesday night is a must win game again for Harris.

First-half: Cardiff hit Luton with 2 early goals and the first-half they totally controlled, they looked at ease with every Luton attack :bluebird: :bluebird:

Was this desperation as Harris has never started Mark Harris before.

Mark Harris started up front for the Bluebirds in the Championship for the first time, getting the nod ahead of Robert Glatzel, who can only settle for a place on the bench.

Neil Harris has also preferred Sheyi Ojo to Josh Murphy, who also dropped to the bench.

CARDIFF CITY 4 LUTON TOWN 0 :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

H-T 2-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City (4-4-2): Smithies; Bacuna, Morrison, Nelson, Bennett; Wilson, Ralls, Vaulks, Ojo; Harris, Moore.

Subs: Phillips, Bamba, Bagan, Benkovic, Pack, Murphy, Hoilett, Whyte, Glatzel.

5th min: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Luton Town (Morrison 5) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Morrison pokes in at the back post from Wilson's corner!

A sigh of relief is breathed from the City bench.

9th min:GOAL! Cardiff City 2-0 Luton Town (Harris 9)

Goal! Mark Harris!

Excellent work from Sheyi Ojo down the left and his cross found Harris, who controlled beautifully on the half volley before slotting calmly into the corner. Great goalm :bluebird: :bluebird:

41st min A double sub for Luton. Mpanzu and Berry off, Nombe and Bree on.

Well deserved by City :bluebird:

H-T 2-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

City looked really comfortable :bluebird:

GOAL! Cardiff City 3-0 Luton Town (Moore 59) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Kieffer Moore gets in on the act!

It was a matter of time, really. Harry Wilson with another great corner and Moore heads home from point-blank range! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Ralls off, Pack on.

Moore off, Glatzel on.

71st min
Gavin Whyte and Junior Hoilett on.

Mark Harris and Harry Wilson off.

City looked very comfortable and totally in command :bluebird: :bluebird:

83rd min
GOAL! Cardiff City 4-0 Luton Town (Ojo 83)

Goal! Ojo hammers home!

A Marlon Pack corner is cleared and Ojo drives into the box and hammers home emphatically from the edge of the box, game over.

4-0 Well deserved :bluebird: :bluebird:

Much better performance all round today.

Hopefully we can kick on from here now.

A result Neil Harris really needed but it will count for nothing if we don't build on it on Tuesday.

The ball actually going in the net from an early attack is the key not just attacking.

Its a win. A good win but just a win.

For me we need to see a lot more of this against tougher opposition.

Harris out. Poor Luton team. Glad we won but gutted as harris gonna have more loses and get away with it

Excellent performance and by far the best of the season we looked dangerous

My fear is that we had a similar result against Barnsley and what happened after.

Of course with the players we have we will win now and then - I just don't see Harris getting us on any form of run (unless a bad one going on this season).

Fair play Harris pulled a performance when he needed it. I agree a loss today and he was toast.

You can only play what is in front of you....well done Neil Harrris for getting it right and making Luton Town, lying in 11th position before this game, look like relegation fodder.

It wasn't that they were bad, we were just too good in every department. Neil Harris bit the bullet and went for broke.....the rest is history. Well done Neil and all the players for believing in him. :bluebird:

Mirror of Barnsley game but 3 goals from dead ball situations !! Was better performance but not sure if it wasnt because of lutons change of tactics to pray on our defensive errors? Obviously it backfired with early goals..

We looked better today no doubt about that and besides the result it was great to see NH stop using our CB to play out. For me Morrison and Nelson are CB in the head it, kick it and block it school of defending, and they are both very good at that. Mark Harris brought a new dimension to the team.

Not getting carried away though as it's a better result than performance but a massive improvement on Wednesday night.

He took the handbreak off for a change. We have the players to win, just needs to set up right each game.

I’ve been a real vocal Harris out man since the awful performance against Coventry but fair play to him was a much better and more importantly much more committed performance today. I know Luton aren’t up to much but they can play and were above us in the table. I’m still not convinced but fair is fair today was excellent. Roll on Tuesday night

I think today proves that we have players who are talented enough not to struggle in this league. Whether they have the right attitude and tactics to make a meaningful move up the table, only time will tell.

That was Luton's biggest loss of the season and they'd only lost 1 in 7 previously. These things get pointed out when we lose so lets point them out when we win too. Well done boys. Onto the next one.

Yep - had he lost it would have been curtains - or rather had we lost by going down without a fight it would be all over.
"One bluebird does a summer make" - that was Bill Shakespeare, I think said that.
Lets see the performance against huddersfield - who are 1 place above us in the league. So an even match on paper, will be interesting to see how we get on.

You say early goal the trouble is we have not had hardly a shot on goal in most of our matches because we simply have not attacked from the start
But we did yesterday from the start thats what i meant by attack attack but from the first whistle not when we are behind
Are you with me now?

Quite calm usually, probably shouldn't read or reply to anything here after being awake for 10 minutes and without my morning cuppa.

I got what you were saying the first time and my point was that in my opinion we have attacked from the start, missed a sitter or two and then gone behind due to some schoolboy defending very early on therefore ending up chasing the game but been unable to score. Being 2 up inside ten minutes rather than chasing an equalizer meant we could control the game and Luton had to do what we have been doing.

No hard feelings here or with you hopefully. :occasion5:

Couple of things struck me.The players seem to be much more comfortable with 4-4-2 with Ojo and wilson being very effective, not just in attack but squeezing their midfield when defending too.

Pretty much how I see it!

Neil Harris is on very soft ground right now and he needs a good 'run' to keep his job

I would be happy if that happened, if only because it is positive for the team/club, but sadly the Luton game was lost as much by them as it was won by us

I don't agree with that last point Chris......essentially you're saying if we win a game it's because the opposition are crap, but if we lose it's because we are crap.

At some point we need to say.....we were good, very good and just blew the opposition away.
