HARRIS MAKES 3 CHANGES: " CARDIFF CITY TEAM TODAY "

Sat Nov 28, 2020 2:02 pm

Team news verdict

We expected changes, but perhaps not this sort of change!

Mark Harris starts up front for the Bluebirds in the Championship for the first time, getting the nod ahead of Robert Glatzel, who can only settle for a place on the bench.

Neil Harris has also preferred Sheyi Ojo to Josh Murphy, who also drops to the bench.

Marlon Pack, guilty of a couple of errors in midweek perhaps, is also out of the side, with Will Vaulks reinstated in the middle of the park.

The back five are as you were, as we have come to expect.

Harris makes
Three changes: @sheyi_ojo, Will Vaulks & @sparkyharris11 start!

But none to the defence! Looks like same formation, so same tactics?

Oh dear he’s panicking. Throwing Harris in up top when he only ever trusts him with 10 seconds to go. This will be his last game. Just hope Bowen rumours aren’t true

Very surprised that there has been no change in defence.

Bacuna was needed in midfield.

Defence needs to change bagan or benkovic talk about no longer been loyal and vaulks makes no difference from pack bacuna is better in the middle.

It's win or bust for Harris. Nothing against young Harris up front, but there were more pressing changes needed.

Benkovic should have started

Unsure why people are upset about the lack of defensive changes. We've only conceded 13 this season. Its creativity where we struggle.

Glad to see Harris in, I've not seen much of him but have heard positive reviews. Happy to see Vaulks in the starting 11 too.

2-0 City :bluescarf:

Agree

Don’t know who the under 23s right back is but I would throw him in there to release Bacuna back to midfield.

3 changes but not a lot has changed really. Changes were needed in defence as well.

Glad pack has been dropped and good to see Harris get a start. I think him and Moore will play better together than glatzel -who is too similar to Moore. But think wilson should be playing centrally. Hes the best player in the team and the team should be built around him. He's wasted outwide as we play with no width.

Exactly and when you count the number goals conceded by having our pockets picked in midfield you begin to see his logic.

We've won 3 games !! the lost games and drawn games have been down to defensive errors ..... all well and good to concede only 13 goals but losing majority by odd goal plus the excessive draws under Harris because of bad defending is a reason to be upset when he doesn't address this.

Annis keep making the same mistakes in lineup ( back four) expecting a different outcome!
What Harris is hoping for is if the defense lets in a goal we will score one more at the other end :laughing5:
Why oh why did he not bring in betrovic and put Nelson at right back as he has played there? then Baccuna would give the midfield a big boost :ayatollah:

Bacuna is not a right back and we have massively missed his energy in midfield. Benkovic must be wondering why he signed

We are trying to play it out from the back with cb's who are poor with the ball at their feet, when weve got a ball playing defender sat on the bench. Id imagine his defensive ability would also improve our defence as well.

Thats to sensible! If you ask him what's hes done to stop defensive errors he'll probably turn around and say I have asked them not to make silly mistakes? And the changes will boost the attacking force...:laughing6:

If the attacking end is doing their job, conceding 1 goal in the worst case scenario would lead us to earning 1 point. There definitely have been errors at the back, but I still feel the back 4 selected is our strongest one (I haven't seen enough of Benkovic to assume he's better).

We are failing to create chances, and when we do create them we're not clinical enough. Only 8 teams have conceded less than us, 13 have scored more.

We're currently averaging 1 goal scored per game, 1 goal conceded. Generally you need to be scoring around 1.5 goals or more a game to reach the top 6, whilst conceding 1 per game would be okay.

Just to add to this, our goal conversion rate is the second lowest in the division.

Yes precisely the problem that us Fans are saying the tactics are wrong and is putting defence under pressure.. and there again point being the defenders hes playing cannot play the way he wants and tactics are to negative. Put 2 & 2 together and get the results we are seeing.. so if he insists on playing this way he needs to change defence then conceding stupid goals wont matter?

We've had the 5th most shots in the division and have the 2nd lowest goal conversion rate. There lays our problem, in my opinion.

Morrison picking the team this week.
