Those that want us to lose tomorrow

Fri Nov 27, 2020 8:39 am

I read a few posts on here and on social media hoping we lose tomorrow , on the hope that Harris will be sacked.
I personally cannot see how anyone under any circumstance would want their team to lose.. these people p me off

I may be a grumpy old poster who isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'd never want City to lose.

Proper fans support their club through thick and thin. That means they will want to win every game regardless of the situation.

This remines me of the Rebrand when it first came out. Those who continued supporting the team but where against the Rebrand where accused of selling out by the Red Brigade. This told me that those in the Red Brigade shouting these claims knew nothing about following your club. I'm glad to see those Red Brigade individuals no longer support or follow the club and good riddance to them.

I dont get it either. Although I think Harris's time is up, I'd be happy to see him turn it around tomorrow. Surprised he's still manager to be honest but would a convincing win buy him so more time?

I want harris gone aswell but regardless whos in charge I'd NEVER want to see us lose! Can't understand anyone wanting us to lose tbh

I want City to begin a long run of great form. Never would my preference be us to lose any match.

Re: Those that want us to lose tomorrow

I find it poor form to EVER want a team you say you support to lose!!!
I guess for some its win or nothing??

Why the hell would anyone want the team they support to lose??

Always spoils my weekend after a defeat.

I’m a proper fan mate and have been since 1977. The reason I hope we lose is that it should mean that we then have a new person in control with new ideas who could perhaps save our season. The alternative is a draw or win that (in my opinion) would prolong having to watch the dire stuff we’re watching at the moment and the continuous albeit slow slide down the table. If a loss is the only way to guarantee a change, as I strongly believe a change is needed then so be it. Any true fan would agree I’d imagine.
Tbh when the game starts I’ll almost certainly be shouting and willing us to win so maybe I’ll rephrase it - I wouldn’t be too unhappy if we lost if we meant we’d have a new guy in charge.

I get what you are saying 62r,but even then,if we do lose & Harris goes,I cant see the board releasing the purse strings, especially in january,so with the best will, whoever takes his place will be left with whats here, and seeing as we seem to be devoid of ball playing players,we will revert to warnockball, whilst we achieved promotion with it,it was hardly entertaining!! Maybe a few loans in january might change things?(not with Harris)my worry is we will be taking a chance on a cheap option, and the rest who are available, will want(and need) to spend. In my opinion, tans wealth has taken a huge hit,due to covid,as he is in Hospitality and leisure as well as football.times are toght I believe and survival this year is a must imho, anything else(bar being relegated) will have to do,if we dont get promotion of course!but ill still be screaming at the tv,every game, hoping we go on a good run.

Mate it’s style of play that I want to see changed.
Not players constantly playing the ball backwards, taking 3 touches to control then turning towards our own goal.
When was the last time any of our players got to the byline, had a shot on goal from outside the area.
There’s a few who’ve become too comfortable but they don’t ALL become poor players overnight. At Coventry I saw so many times, players seriously not knowing what to do, not acting instinctively and it’s making the quality of football absolutely dire.

We don’t won’t bluebirds to lose, but realistically we need a fantastic run to get in the top 6. A win tomorrow is welcome but do we have the manager and players who believe they can win the next 7 out of 10 games ? I say no. I say let’s get Bamba in as we won’t go down and look for next season.

Short term loss for long term gains.

Do I ever want to see Cardiff lose? Not really, if we got smashed tomorow which meant the board gave Harris the boot and bring someone decent in would I begrudgingly accept it/want it? Yes.

If that makes me a 'shit fan' then send me my badge in the post.

Just so you know,I'm not accusing anyone of being a shit fan  while I'm not accusing all the players, but some that have been our backbone for some time, seem jaded this year? Hoilett for one looks OK one game, then goes mis sing, or off the boil for 3/4 games,Morrison doesn't look like the player we know, ralls, Murphy a couple of others, just not doing it for some reason.

I agree the football is awful, and a lot of the blame lays with Harris, but some players need to look long and hard in the mirror, and show some pride in the shirt.as some poster said"we pay to wear the same shirt"! We may well have to revert to type, and play more warnocks way? To me some players look like average parks players, with the shit passes, crosses etc.,but then, still the football will be boring/dire to watch, maybe a new manager could get them to play more attractive football, but who knows? Not that I think Harris has much longer tbf,I have backed him,as I always do a new manager, but I never wanted him to fail,my choice or not.perhaps a new guy could play players where they should be,like Wilson and bacuna.and hopefully try and win a game from the get go. :old: :bluebird:

I would never want us to lose a competitive league fixture regardless of what the situation with the manager is. However, I do sometimes look at out first game in the league cup and think to myself I wouldn't mind losing this, get it out of the way, save the lads a few games and crack on with the league! :bluescarf: Am I a real fan?

Harris is not getting the best out of the players he has I think any decent manager would get a lot more out of the team we have. I don't want us to lose but if we lose and it guaranteed Harris being shown the door I wouldn't be to disappointed would be for the greater good

i don't think it's about wanting to lose but seeing it as if a loss got rid of harris then it's a loss worth taking for the greater good of the season...

Agreed 100%. No good us scraping a win here and there keeping us in the bottom third of the table or even in a relagation battle. If losing against Luton is what it takes to get rid of Harris so be it. And I am saying that as a previous strong Harris supporter.

The real question is it acceptable to want the other team to score if you are winning 2-0 and you have a bet on city but both teams to score :?

Cos i am there quite a bit.....

Decent pace today, well happy
