Coventry injury news latest: The Sky Blues continue to struggle to get leading scorer Matty Godden fit for this week's match with Cardiff City
French wing-back Dacosta is also out.
Coventry with only one win in their last ten Champonship games, were hoping for some good news.
Top scorer Matty Godden is out injured.
French wing-back Julien Dacosta needs surgery.
Wes Jobello was named on the bench for the first time in over 12 months
Coventry City's injury list is slowly and surely clearing up but it looks as though star striker Matty Godden will remain sidelined for Wednesday night's clash with Cardiff City.
The Sky Blues had hoped to be boosted by the return of their leading scorer to face Birmingham City on Friday night following a further two weeks of recovery during the international break, but the Blues game came too soon.
Godden limped off with a foot injury against Nottingham Forest and hasn't been able to train or play since.
Asked if Godden is hoped to be fit to face the Bluebirds on Wednesday night, Robins said: "I wouldn't have thought so.
“Matty’s injury is a problematic one. It's a plantar fascia issue and because there’s not a massive blood supply to the area it's difficult to heal.
"So we just have to wait and see with him. And how quickly he comes back depends on him being able to tolerate the pain."
The plantar fascia is a thick, weblike ligament that connects the heel to the front of the foot. It acts as a shock absorber and supports the arch of the foot, helping you walk.
French wing-back Dacosta, meanwhile, suffered a blow last week to his comeback from ankle reconstructive surgery in the summer.
“Julien has undergone surgery again," said the manager.
"It’s horrendous! He was in pain during training so we sent him to see a specialist and they saw a problem and they have tried to correct it, so hopefully that will be it.
“He’s going to be two or three weeks, probably three, hopefully two.
"But that’s the issue we have got. We have never been able to get everyone in and fit together, so we just have to wait.”
Wes Jobello:
There's positive news regarding the French winger in his progress after recovering from a torn ACL, suffered in October last year.
Having played in a series of Under-23 games in the last month or so, the 26-year-old was included in his first senior matchday squad on Friday night when he was named as one of City's nine substitutes.
Although he didn't get any game time in the goalless draw with Birmingham City, the fact that he was included as an option shows he is ready for a gradual return to first team football.
The fans' favourite was hoped to have put his injury nightmare behind him when he bagged back to back stunning goals in pre-season ahead of the new Championship campaign.
The 22-year-old was showing all the signs of being back to his best and finally able to realise his huge potential after recovering from two ACL injuries to his left knee – the first happening at Stevenage in November 2017.
Following his recovery from that setback, Jones broke down almost exactly a year later in November 2018 against Peterborough United with a recurring rupture in the same knee.
More than 12 months on again and the lively forward made a tentative return to action against MK Dons in the Football League Trophy before playing a string of Under-23 games to build up his strength and fitness.
COVID-19 then brought a halt to the season, giving the player longer than anticipated to get himself fighting fit ahead of the 2020/21 campaign in the second tier.
But on Friday, September 4, Jones suffered the same injury for a third time, this time to his right knee, which will now see him out of action for at least the next nine months.
"He's had his operation, which went really well thankfully so he's on the road to recovery," said Robins, speaking about the popular player.
