Cardiff City manager Neil Harris says he has seen a "shift in winning mentality" within his squad after a disappointing result away at Millwall.

“We are improving and I can see a lot of good in what we do, and I’ve seen a massive shift on the training pitch over the last ten days. But that has to translate into a Saturday afternoon.”

“On paper we have a good squad and I have told them we have to start winning games.”

"I don't just look at today, I look at breaking down four games and what is coming this week. I just said to the boys that becomes a really good point if we follow it up with a really good performance and more importantly three points on Wednesday at Coventry.”


"We have to start winning games of football, that goes without me having to say and I have told the players this.”

And Harris has said the winning mentality, which he says is so clear to see on the training ground, must now start to translate into performances on the pitch and, importantly, winning matches.

"We have done research over the last few weeks, based on expected goals and chances created, conceded, every stat going we are in the top six - apart from the points total," he added.

"Ultimately, that's what matters. I'm not one to hide behind stats.”

Absolute bull shit! Last 15 minutes we played well but apart from Barnsley at home we’ve been crap all season. Get the ball on the ground and play a system that gives Wilson a free role and that has ojo on the left and Murphy on the right and we might stand a chance of getting into play offs

I’ve done some research aswell Harris butt and you did a great job last year but this year it is not working at all. Milwall were very poor yesterday and we struggled for most of the game. Coventry are a poor side and struggling against them will be another nail in the coffin

no good on the training pitch or in tescos mate , ive got a winning mentality when i sit down in front of the TV too... then slowly but surely it disappears iver the next 2 hours ..
as for the research.... its what real managers do all the time...less of the under 9s coach cliches and more of actually doing your job maybe..

Safety first approach is killing us.Playing the right way but we are too conservative and too slow in the final third.They talk about stats but if theres a stat for the most sidways/backwards passes from a promising position then several of our players would be topping that section in the championship.

Going off his recent form, if he has been doing research it's likely about what job he's gonna be applying for next.

Watching Leeds vs Arsenal and there is no way you can compare their squads or recent history but the mindset of Beisla's team of aggressively attacking compared to our super safety first 0-0 is a good result and hope tommo does something in the last 15 mins.

He will shortly join an extensive host of ex players who find they haven't got what is necessary to be a manager in Europe's most competitive second tier. (is it the 6th biggest in Europe ?)

It may be too early in his career for us, perhaps he needed a little more time in L1 and the promotion to the championship with Millwall didn't help his development or the championship may prove a little out of his reach.

Harris needs to do his talking on the pitch in futue, where it really matters from now on and starting with one of our easiest games of the season v Coventry this Wednesday
