I think I'm right in saying he NEVER played in a single friendly for Wales

(please correct me if I'm wrong though!)

You're right! I just found this on Wiki:

Giggs received criticism for his reluctance to participate in friendly international matches. Since his début in 1991 against Germany, Giggs failed to attend a friendly international until some nine years later, when he then missed 18 consecutive friendly games. The official reason given for such absences was that Giggs was injured on each occasion. However, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson in fact had a policy of refusing to release the player for friendly games.

i think you will find not many united players missed friendlies for england.giggs just didn't want to play

I don't see why they don't keep Toshack, I've not laughed so long in years until he came along.

Chris Coleman with Robbie Savage as his number 2  surely couldn't do any worse than Toshack :(

Im struggling to think of anyone to be honest.
Im sure Flynn could do a job but I would be gutted to see him leave his U21 role as we wouldnt get anyone near as good as him to do the job.
Speed has just taken over at Sheffield United
Giggs is still playing for United
Coleman is sh1t

hes one of fergies bum boys and fergie got plans for him and them plans wont involve wales

if we let people cut their managerial teeth with the welsh job we are never going to get anywhere they should learn the job in the lower divisions, being the manager should be the pinnicle of their career it's no job for a novice, venables or flynn should be offered the job imo

Re: GIGGS AS MANAGER.......

If your going on that basis you wont find many better CV's than Toshs

Re: GIGGS AS MANAGER.......

Mon Sep 06, 2010 6:31 pm

i agree toshack did have a good cv but just because he was a failure it doesn't mean we shouldn't go for experience , being the boss of your country should be the pinnecle of your career and something that comes later in your career jose mourinho thinks the same, it shouldn't be used by a young manager as a stepping stone to a club job. just my opinion

I think it's important we get the right character now. So
Someone who has respect and can get us organise.
