There are those who will argue (with justification) that the season is still young, and all options including promotion remain on the table. My opinion is that the club is currently in a depressed state, and we are blindly walking through the season more in hope than expectation.
I wont do a poll.... caused too much aggro last time, but what is most important this season? I even think a promotion, if it were a possibility, would be bad for the club right now, because two promotions previous, we didn't invest in the structure of the club as we should have, and I'm not sure a third stint would bring a different outcome.
So, is it mere survival in the league for this year and start again fresh next, emphasis on bringing through youth, Cup runs, pushing for play offs, putting a new management team in place?
Each has certain merits, but lets be realistic here.

This why I don't think Tan is the guy to take us further.
As for this season I just think we will establish ourselves in a position that reflects our owners ability. That is mid table of the Championship while under Tan.

Promotion should be the aim every season. Otherwise what's the point!? Unless you're a 'smaller' club where survival is the aim, which we arnt, then I would not be happy playing for a mid table finish. Promotion should be the aim purely based on the revenue it creates. You say to be realistic then say you want to write the season off after 11 games.

Respect your opinion, and promotion is the aim every season for every club at the beginning of the year. Agreed, but could it be considered a ridiculous statement to say that we are still aiming for promotion given our start, style, effort, results?
You mention the importance of the revenue promotion creates, but whats more important is how that revenue is used.
I too believe it is realistic that, if nothing changes personnel wise, that the season can be written off. There are other teams who have already shown are far better playing wise, squad size wise, playing style wise who currently have a more than a chance of finishing higher than us. We are already a quarter of the way through the season.
