Yes we need a championship savvy manager at least! Do we want to take a gamble on a young untried manager at this level even if he appears to be good at Newport... only managers who do anything in championship coming from lower division usually come up with a club been at for years like Eddie Howe!

Neil Harris is small time and crap as well.. I'd be happy with a manager who at least believes in pass and move. Not pretend to pass sideways before the inevitable lump up to the big guy.

100% correct

Not for me. If we decide to make a change, I'm not confident that the current regime will go for the best qualified, but a cheaper option.

We all want a Howe, or Jokanovic, but I can see an unknown foreign manager, who will either be roaring success or a drab failure. Any future appointment is really important, and I don't know if we can take such a risk.

I know we're talking like Harris is a goner, but clearly I think his time here is hanging by a thread.

i disagree with Thomasblue...this regime have had 10 yrs managing a Football team...i don t care how much time they have had...they are not football men...they want to control their managers and appoint lower league yes men...more of the same to come i am afraid...they may be successful business men but Footballmen ...No

Our next manager has to be someone who can attract good players and has their respect. Most coaches attended the same sort of course to qualify so are much of a muchness. Its being able to get players here that counts.Cooper used his contacts to tap into his old under 17team .Where would he be without that option.
Warnock got Bamba and Hoilett here and things almost immediately changed. So the board need to have a good think being a good coach is not enough. The first question i would be asking is who do you think you would be able to bring to the club given the budget.
The development of players is also vital and sadly we have not reached anywhere near an acceptable level of young talent reaching the first team.A proper plan leader and figure head to lead this is a top priority, an area like Cardiff needs to produce players. They are there if we look hard enough and not let the likes of Swansea pick them up. eg Carbango.

TERRYHARKIN

Agree with you
bagan did nothing wrong while bennet was injured and was dropped soon as bennet came back i would play him at right back and put bacuna back in
midfield rather than leave to fade into the background like a lot of our youngsters

Exactly trouble is managers these days are so worried about success they are afraid to give youth a chance. There has to be some middle ground or we will be spending on other teams players for ever without being able to pay for what we really want. Producing our own players also gives us a chance to sell on at a nice profit. Hate to say but again look at the money Swansea has turned over.

Neil Harris has made the lge1 play offs twice and finished 8th in this league with a club that would think appointing Flynn themselves was a far bigger example of being small time than us appointing Harris...

Not so long ago County fans wanted Flynn sacked due to a run of poor results.

TBF he has shown the ability to turn things around and apparently he has changed Newport's playing style from route one to a more creative based system and most importantly he has got his team to produce an end result i.e. they score goals and win games.

I don't know if he could replicate that at CCFC but I have a feeling it won't be long before someone takes a punt on him.

Would love to see the stat for managers in the championship that have come from League 1 /2 and got promotion to the PL compared to expire PL managers who have gained promotion back to the PL.

Rafa Benitez is the only one I can think of - there must be more though

people weren't happy with the lack of experience Harris had in this division. The club and Flynn would be slaughtered after a few bad results.

Yeah I agree with you Wez. He's got all the experience in the world and was unlucky to be dismissed from the Watford job. I definitely wouldn't appoint a manager from a team two leagues lower than us. The club has to be more ambitious than that.
