Top 6 by January?

Sat Nov 07, 2020 2:57 pm

The board has laid down the expectation that NH must lead us to the top 6 by Jan.

I think we have 11 games to go and judging by the first 11 games we've amassed a whopping 13 points.

Another 13 points from the coming 11 games isn't going to get us in the mix.

Harris will claim he misheard and bottom 6 not top 6

He’s a dead man walking. No manager brings it back once the fans turn

Trouble is that harris cannot hear the fans as we are not there and he does' nt do the forum like warnock used to.

That's the least that should be expected this season and, to date, it's not going to plan

I'm not calling for the manager's head yet, but if there's going to be a change it needs to be pre-transfer window in January, so the incumbent can set up his own stall even a little

One of my interview questions would be "What can you bring to the table to change things and who would you reasonably like to bring in?"

We have no chance of top 6 in January now

The next four games are winnable and should in reality be 12 points

Millwall
Coventry
Luton
Huddersfield

After that in December we play

Watford away
Stoke away
Swansea home
Norwich away
Brentford home

I cant see us getting a single point in December and with our current form I doubt we will get 6 from our games in November which will leave us fighting relegation

The only way Harris will last the season is the fact there are no fans present.

9 points off top spot season far from over but can we win 3 games in a row? That is big question last 3 games shown we can create the chances but its also showing our fraility in defence especially man marking spare attacker where lot of goals come from... next 4 games give us that chance to win 3 games but will it happen? If doesnt can see him going as to he that far away from top 6 is not conjucive to him staying.

As I've said elsewhere, we struggle to win 1 game in a row

it doesnt work like that Allan... the top 2 or 3 will be getting 2 points a game and the play off clubs a bit less... so we win 3 on the bounce {} which is unlikely } and dont close the gap by 9 points as they are picking points up too...

a run of 6 wins and 5 draws which would take us up to January... would put us on 36 points which is how many points Fulham had in 6th place after 22 games last season... is that possible under NH ?
coincidently 6 wins and 5 draws is exactly what we have had in the 20 games since the first lock down...

Sorry wasnt suggesting win 3 and we be top 2 was really saying 3 wins in a row and it changes things in league as not every team above us is going to do same? 3 wins will put us in a far better position that's all and its obtainable given our next 4 games... if not can see Harris going as we will be to far away from top 6 for tans liking.

Trump has a better chance of winning the election than we have of being top 6 in January.

Not all the top clubs, reading just lost 3rd in a row,Swansea lost too,he needs to set up more aggressively at home, and get benkovic on the field, bacuna in modfield, bagan deserves a place too! While current form suggests we wont be top 6,football is a funny old game, especially this year.dont forget reading won 7 of first 8,now they cant buy a win,and are conceding heavily.keep the faith.

At this stage we are not reaching nowhere near top 6 by January. Things can change from now on but something needs to happen to shake up the team.

Why ae the club talking about "top 6" - we have been reliably informed that this season it is "all about survival" !!!

There is a separate thread on this subject (just n case you missed it!!)

There are probably at least 15 other teams’ supporters who are complaining too. Despite being very much in a minority I still try to display a positive outlook on this board.

There is less than a quarter of the season gone and plenty of time to improve, or for other teams to get worse. Yes, the results have been disappointing, but this is the Championship where there is very little difference between any of the teams, so things can change very quickly.

I find it hard to understand why people have to be so negative all the time, but it’s very much a sign of modern society (including politicsj, where unhappy people would rather make everyone else unhappy rather than try to improve their own lives.
