“I feel like I have had my wallet pinched out of”

Fri Nov 06, 2020 9:34 pm

Cardiff manager Neil Harris told Sky Sports: "I feel like I have had my wallet pinched out of my pocket, I have got to be honest.

"We have dominated everything. One misplaced pass in the second minute and the ball goes in our goal.

"We have had 17 chances, dominated possession. Frist half some of our football was outstanding and second half we had moments.

"Ultimately goals win games, but it's a hard one to take.

"There is no lack of quality in my team. It just didn't go for us tonight."

My view:

13pts from 33 pts this season or say 6pts from our last 18pts is relegation form .

So pressure will start to minute.

Millwall away has to be 3pts :bluebird:

You bought a season ticket as well then Neil ?

Sorry Neil, not good enough,I have watched hundreds of matches in my time and that wasn't good enough, coming out with a football cliche isn't good enough either.

I don't know why you feel you had your pocket picked Neil because if we had just one player with the commitment of Kalas we would have won that game. One goal won that game tonight but the Wurzels defenders showed our lot how you defend.

You don't deserve to win games when you miss chances like Moore and Hoilett missed tonight. Don't know where we go after tonight but the playoffs :? no chance as we need to win 21 of the remaining 35 games. Just can't see it.

Kalas was brilliant tonight and easily deserved man of the match

It was a good battle between him and Moore

Some comments here are a bit bitter. We were mugged tonight by an average Bristol side. We didn't have any luck tonight thats all. On another night we would have comfortably won.The last two performances have been good. Harris is rightfully under pressure because the rest of this campaign has not been good enough. We have winnable games after the break. I think a run of wins is there if the team can stay fit.

This is far too positive for this board. If you don’t want Harris out you’re in the wrong place. Please leave immediately. :o

We have played derby , qpr , Barnsley and Bristol last four games and got 4 points out of twelve

Runs in the championship don't come much easier than that

We didn't get mugged tonight Bristol done a job on us and put in a performance that we are used to seeing from us not opponents

I can see where Harris is coming from, we didn't deserve to lose that game, goal aside Bristol offered nothing all game. But we didn't exactly deserve to win it either. We still offer very little in the final 3rd and when games are that tight results like that will go against us.

Good teams make their own luck, first and foremost. We are not a good team,,,, we potentially could be, given the right management and coaching,,, but we currently are not. We’ve recently gone from; poor passing, poor ball control, poor set pieces,,,,, now it’s poor finishing, and poor bad luck?... No,,,, the buck stops with one person, and one management team. It’s just not happening,,,,, and just like some earlier comments regarding the fact that we could have been playing until midnight and still not scored,,, I personally think the longer we stick with the current management, the worse it’s going to get.

All those people who hailed moore as a good header of the ball?? Well no offence I dont see it! I wasnt overly exited at signing him,but said for the money, its what you get! He needs benching, put glatzel on(he has been unwell of late,so harris no choice but to play moore)with wilson in the 10,bagan for Bennett(1 good game in ten!) And get bacuna back in midfield.people can say the service is poor, but the chances moore has wasted when he does get decent service?? Still think we should have started with two upfront today, can always bring one off,if not working.

he does love a cliche... its a wonder he didnt talk in the 3rd person and name himself in there...
very forgivable if we are winning...

will the powers that be twist or stick ...?

But we keep giving away weak goals so its hardly surprising. That's got to be the third time this season Morrison has let the striker get infront of him and scored. Not good enough. Where the f**k is that other CB we signed?

Glatzel deserves a run in the team, Moore has had his chance and should have done better in a lot of games. To be honest I expected a lot more from Bristol last night, so having the extra midfielder made sense. They were very average though. But all hindsight I suppose.

Lack of awareness/desire. Defence definitely needs a shake up. Be shocked if we don't see benkovic after the international break

Grim days they were but not many of us stuck together then. We were lucky to get 4,000 watching.

We are sleepwalking towards relegation.
I was there in the Durban days. In fact I've been there
since the early sixties.
A pattern has emerged under Tan.
Malky good manager knew what he was doing.
Sacked in comes Ole Slade Tropple. Mediocre at its best.
The pattern is then repeated with Warnock. He leaves then Harris is brought in.
Sunderland, Hull Wolves Leeds have all gone through the trap door.
This is our last season of parachute money.
We won't be going anywhere under Harris except through the trap door.

I totally agree,,,, the writing is clearly on the wall,,, just a matter of time, because I can’t see NH turning things around. We are a shadow of a team compared to the end of last season, for whatever reasons were just not performing.
Things need freshening up at our club,,, before it’s to late.

Wallet is pinched if they'd scored in last minute not the 1st.... we lost because of poor performance upfront we had numerous chances but didn't take them..... I cannot believe they set out to have only one shot on target and score then sit back do nothing for rest game! It was more a case of us not allowing them opportunity to play.... we deserved a point at least but if dont score when given opportunity you lose the game generally its that simple.

Harris like lot of managers are not media savvy otherwise wouldn't back himself into corners frequently! He should have left out pocket picked and concentrated on the things that were correct like we are playing better as stats show around 45 attempts at goal in 3 games cannot be playing bad to do that! And the fact it's our conversion of those chances into goals that as cost us points and the poor defending of certain defenders allowing attackers oceans of space to score. Now if he said that he would get better reviews from fans... he does appear to have turned things around playing wise but he hasn't turned around the inconsistencies that will ultimately cost him his job by xmas unless he turns this around .

Neil Harris makes strong claim after latest Cardiff City setback

By Chris Gallagher

07/11/2020

Cardiff City boss Neil Harris admitted he felt ‘robbed’ after his team were beaten by Bristol City last night.

An early Chris Martin effort gave the Robins the lead and whilst the Bluebirds dominated for much of the game after that, they just couldn’t find an equaliser.

That makes it one win in six for the Welsh side, leaving them in the bottom half of the table – and they will drop further down the league after today’s game.

And, reflecting on the loss, Harris explained to the official site how he couldn’t believe his team didn’t win.

“I’m absolutely gutted. I feel robbed. We were by far the better team, and created chance after chance. We dominated the ball, dominated at set plays, and dominated every duel on the pitch. But we haven’t scored. It’s a game we deserved to win, and should have done.

“I’m not going to bemoan my team for giving the ball away – the amount of chances we created was enough to win two or three games.”

Cardiff have to wait two weeks now until their next fixture, which is away to Harris old club, Millwall.

Cardiff City quiz: Are these 12 facts about the Bluebirds’ history genuine or not?

The verdict

You have to have some sympathy for the Cardiff boss here as they were very good at times against Bristol City but they just lacked that composure in front of goal.

Given the talent they have on the pitch though, the fans are right to be unhappy. Harris is working with an excellent squad for Championship level and the early season form isn’t good enough.

It will be tough looking back to that result over the next two weeks and Cardiff need to start picking up results when they return to action.
