A forum for all things Cardiff City

My View:
All games are important but Barnsley carries somewhat more importance than normal because :
(1) we do not want to slip too far behind the leader group
(2) there is a lot of pressure from the fans who are calling for Harris to go.
Before the series of games Derby - QPR - Barnsley ..... I was “hoping” and thinking that we should get 7 points and greedily I thought perhaps all 9 points.
WeWe all know in football it never goes according to plan or to logic.
Derby were a club in some disarray with problems on and off the pitch. I thought....... surely we must win. Yet if we are honest they played better than us ..... albeit a poor side. QPR I thought ........ a 90% winnable game. What ? In the 1st half we made them look like Brazil. 2 penalties let us back in and the 2nd one was a bizarre one that rarely happens.
The point I am making is that I am putting a lot of hope on the Barnsley game after the two disappointing performances.
How many share my feelings ?

There is an interesting common thing between us and Barnsley. Their owner like Tan is of Far Eastern origin and is also very successful ........ and ..... he owns as many football clubs if not more than Tan. He is Chien Lee.

On one side I want us to win a climb the table as a fan , on the other i hope we lose badly so the club get rid of Harris , purely because a win would just paper over the obvious cracks and delay the inevitable
I just can't see him being good enough manager to take us up, i didn't believe it when he signed and I'm even more sure now.
Its a game that will have a huge impact on the season

Barnsley are in great form too, going to be a tough game.

I would sacrifice a hammering just to ramp up pressure on Harris before it's too late

Without doubt.
Its been a dreadful start to the season and for me its already over. The players don't seem interested and for me that means there is something wrong between them and the management. With Harris threatening to drop players I hope there is some clearing of the air going on.

It’s not a knee jerk reaction by our supporters wanting Harris out.
Most fans are very knowledgable and understand their own clubs. As pointed out again something is amiss in the squad.
If Harris goes so to must be a few of the players who think their jack the lads.

You cant hide body language.
Got told a story when Slade came in , he had the same issue.
Asked the players who were with him to step forward and the those that were not to step outside the room.
50% of the players stepped outside the room.
As much as i believe Harris should go, the players also need to hang their heads low, it is after all they who step out on the field each week.
If Harris goes it will take one special person to step in, a strong character for sure to sort this lot out.
Tuesday is critical now and i think we will see a number of changes including at CH.

Having calmed down from yesterday I am less furious but agree Tuesdays game is a make or break for Harris. It is a bit premature to say sack him right now but the last two performances have not been acceptable.Pathetic in fact. Yes he has had some unfortunate injuries but there is simply no excuse for the lack of effort and concentration being shown by the team. Win and we can steady ourselves in middle table and he deserves a bit more time but if the worst happens again with a gutless performance then I hope he is quickly gone by the next international break. There is no sentiment in football.

Injuries, yes but it’s not like he didn’t know it was going to be a problem and then he is messing with the shape to try and cover.
We have 1 right back at the club - he got rid of Peltier and Richards. Both might have been the right decision, but going into the season with one right back leaves us hopelessly exposed. Moving Bacuna there loses us an energy in he middle.
Tomlin he knew is injury prone - could argue that he is unlucky with Wilson, but his answer is to replace Tomlin/Wilson with Ralls rather than a Holliet, Ojo or Murphy thereby changing the whole shape and dynamic of the team. Ralls should be starting but in central midfield.

Thats true
Its hard to tell the feelings of the crowd and pressure on a manager when fans are not in the ground.
The club could be happy with the job hes doing for all we know. Do the board read message boards to see what fans think ?
Would they know the fans are not happy without actually hearing them in the ground

According to the poll, more then a few dont want Harris sacked,so not ALL fans wish we'd get a pasting,to please their own views, for me he deserves a bit of time yet,but maybe 6 games, and if things are the same,or dread it,worse, then maybe I and others may want him gone too,but the way the players are lacking in energy, enthusiasm is down to them, not harris, unless there are a few,who dont like,or are shit,at playing the game,ie passing for one!im prepared to wait a little longer.win against Barnsley and lets see where we go from there.

This is the last season with parachute payments so it would be wise to be pushing for promotion this season and it has to start now
otherwise we are not going to get there
if we loose this we are bottom 6 not what the board or fans wanted
so harris has to take it on the chin shape up or ship out
bottom 6 is not where we want to be.
