Lunch of the lockdown

Tue Oct 27, 2020 12:54 pm

As you'll all remember, we had a popular article some time ago titled "Pies of the Premier League" which was posted by another member.

With everything going on at the moment and us not being at the grounds, it's no doubt our matchday experiences have changed massively.

So what has been your pre-match staple during these unprecedented times? I myself have held off on food in the morning and endulged in a classic bacon sandwich with brown sauce and a cup of Joe!

Sounds like a good choice that.

I'm not going to lie, I myself am a huge bovril advocate but having purchased some from poundland to try and feel remotely matchday ish was left highly disappointed

I was the originator of that epic and popular topic, thanks very much.

Moving onto the lockdown, I’m tending to go for a scrambled egg on toast prior to kick off to balance the books before to a post match take away, normally an Indian. I often wonder if the result influences my takeaway choice.

As a side note, my replica City shirt that I normally don to watch the game has been replaced with PJ’s and the words “I’m a special cookie” branded across the front. I’m ok with this though and have embraced it.

Seen a picture of Ninian Park the other day and there was a sign advertising Bovril for £1.50. It’s about a quid more nowadays, although it still gives me that sense of enormous well being and helps me to find a happy place.

I think I've potentially only donned my City shirt twice since this pandemic. It doesn't quite have the same ring to it when you're the only one in the house wearing it. It's different when thousands of others are around you wearing it and I think my attire of choice has been pretty much shorts and the first top out the wardrobe!
