Honestly real life is really depressing at the moment (I'm really struggling), covid-19, redundancies, lock down, WAG, BLM...

I just want to come onto this forum and talk and read about football from CCFF fans and forget about all the crap that happening in the world but I can't. So many threads are now political, this forum is now just as bad as the Daily Mail which I no longer read.

Wishing all football fans well and hoping one day we can just (or mostly) talk about football on a football forum.

Not all bad mate.. Covid will be gone one day. My job went but I’m starting another soon, people are still takin on. Once it’s over we’ll be back in the grounds..

Plenty of football topics on here, about 55 out of the 80 on the first page are football related. The other stuff is talked about as it affects everyone's day to day lives.

I totally agree with the OP.

It's getting ridiculous now.

After yesterday's match I went on here but could hardly see any topics about the match, because they were hidden by all the non-football topics in here.

So I instantly logged out.

Footballers, including those from our club, have very pointedly made BLM an issue, WAG has been instrumental in preventing Welsh Premier League games going ahead as well as not allowing us to play a pre season friendly in front of limited spectators and Covid is having a profound effect on football. To ignore these issues on the forum would be to live in a vacuum.

no...and the truth which will be a tad unpalatable is the 3/4 threads like this one all have things in common.....the OP is invariably someone who is more likely to post on a non football thread than a football thread... and also in a minority on those threads...

oh..and if this was a BLM thread it would have been merged by now...

its not a bad idea but the reality is only 4 of the top 20 threads on the board at the moment are none football ,of which ,this is one and there is an ongoing covid thread since March...and all 4 are clear to anyone looking as to what they are...

Well football nowadays is not the most important topic to talk about. Yes this is a football forum but there is more topics to talk about and get information about rather than whats on the pitch. Unfortunately politics is football and fans talk both so yeah. Its just the way it is.

the strange bit is all those who have started these threads have posting histories of posting more on non football themselves... a fella started one last week and his previous post was non football and then went straight from starting a thread on this to posting on a covid / WAG thread immediately after...

Spot on. I don’t mind non footballing topics but Daya and Brownie contribute nothing except linking their own websites and YouTube channels. At least Nukes talks Cardiff City in between his weekly doomsday predictions.

I think the sentiment of the OP is correct, but having not seen us live or in a real setting for 7 months I think the passion is dwindling for lot of fans.

I guess the site has costs and advertising pays those, so the admins need to allow what they do to generate adequate turnover to upkeep its maintenance.

I watched the Wales France rugby match, expecting the usual tirade about how shit rugby is or I am glad they lost, but nothing. Everyone appears to have lost interest

I did drift over to the other site to evade the constant BLM, WAG, Covid 19 and right wing conspiracy theories only to be met by just as few football threads and loads of Woke/lefty BLM,Covid 19 & WAG threads.

We will come out of this, but some things will never return to pre covid, we have learnt a lot.

Professional sport will wither without attending fans. The governing bodies better realize that TV plays a big part in revenue but it needs fans more than they ever thought.

El classico, South Wales derby, the 2nd south Wales derby, the Brian Clough trophy are just glorified training matches with 30K~ 70K people engaged in the “product”.

Perhaps forums are for old gits. My kids don’t follow them or facebook they talk CCFC on twitter/insta or elsewhere so they may never return ?

1 - my original account was pure football which I loved however password failed and I had to start new account

2 - I'll take your word for it that 6 out 8 posts were not football related, can't remember the last time I posted to be honest so I'm guessing it was when locked down kicked off and it was topical now it just really depressing for me especially given what's happening in my personal life

3 - I don't come on here to post I read a lot and quote from some posters really make me laugh

Either way thank you for mocking me at a time I just want to escape from everything.
