' NEIL HARRIS & NEIL WARNOCK '

What have the managers said?

NEIL HARRIS:

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris: "I think we have adjusted slightly [since Neil Warnock left]. What Neil achieved here is class and very rewarding for him and his staff. They had a good time and we look forward to welcoming him back to the stadium.

"Some personnel has changed, there have been two transfer windows. A lot of players have left. There are some players here Neil signed, the managers before that as well. That’s just natural progression, the average age of the group has changed slightly.

"I think it is a natural progression when you have been here 11 and a half months.

"I’ve put my stamp on it a little bit, a natural progression. We have grown as a group.

"We have had a successful period for three or four seasons. The model we are following is we want to be successful at the club."

NEIL WARNOCK:

Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock: "I don’t think anybody realises where we were when I took over, and what we did in that time. Mehmet [Dalman, the chairman] was absolutely amazing for me, I couldn’t have done the job without him.

"But together, I thought we went on a ride, and we loved every minute of it really. Sometimes, when you get success, certain people within your fans expect and demand it every time. They forget where you were.

"I left a really good squad of players, and a club that was together again. We went back together with the fans, the board and Vincent Tan, and everybody.

"It was really fractured when I took over, and I had jobs to do and wounds to heal on and off the field. I think getting them in the Premier League was probably the best job I’ve done."

I see Warnock is still bleating on about "where we were when i took over" etc. We'd been top Championship side for years under Jones and Mackay. No one can doubt he did a good job here for the first two seasons, especially bringing in the likes of Hoilett, Bamba, Mendez-Laing and Etheridge for nothing, and Paterson for a low fee. We'd had a bad start to 2016/17 but had finished 8th, I think, under Slade the previous season.

It would be more interesting if he would explain his transfer dealing, and commented how much money he wasted for CCFC. Madine, Flint, Vassell, Bogle, Tomlin, Ward, Cunningham , Reid, Murphy, Glatzel, Vaulks, Smithies, Whyte. Apart from the four listed in the first paragraph only Smithies and Paterson could be considered successes , and more recently Tomlin. We spent over £53m on those, and got back £11.3m with most of those who remain certainly not worth the other £40m.

Some people thought he was the Messiah.......he wasn't.

He’s not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy. :laughing6:

Warnock also said his greatest achievement was taking us up. He DID turn the club around and he spoke pre match regarding the comments in the initial post. Harris should have replied in his post match comments that we were poor not to have beaten an inferior team than ours.........because the simple fact is, they are no where near as good as us and we Fu''cked up. I respect Warnock. I love Harris cos he is now a Bluebird. On the pitch against Warnocks team its a battle against his team. CCFC failed to win. Harris needs to kick ass and say it and be ruthless if we are to mix it with the big boys again :ayatollah:

We finished above teams with 'superior' squads in our promotion season. That's what Warnock does. He gets the best out of an average group of players. They probably won't be far off top 6 this season and will probably have one of the best defences in the league. They went to Bristol who were top of the league and had scored the most goals, and beat them 1-0. We won't be the only 'superior' team to lose 1-0 or draw 1-1 to them this season.

We were 23rd when he took over after 12 games and had just been beaten 2-0 at Burton in one of the most inept displays in many a year. Not a good place to be.

Harris did say as much,in his post match interview, only in a more magnanimous way. warnocks statement was typical post match"ref was shit,we did enough to win etc etc, respect where it's due,he did us proud in his time here (with some big mistakes along the way)but we have moved on,this is harris's time to show us what he can do, with players of his choice, rather than another managers. :old: :bluebird:

it was 8 points from 11 games and we finished with 62 points.. only leeds who managed 67 points in 88/89 have managed a better finish off such a poor 11 game start..
