Harry Wilson’s loan from Liverpool to Cardiff could help the Reds command an increased fee for the Welsh winger, according to Sky Sports EFL pundit Keith Andrews.
The 23-year-old scored 25 goals in 84 appearances on loan at Derby and Bournemouth over the course of the last two seasons and had looked set for a permanent exit from Anfield this summer.
Speaking on the Sky Sports EFL Podcast, he said: "It's a huge coup, the way they were able to do it at the last minute. I think Liverpool wanted to sell him, let's be honest, and there wasn’t a that met their requirements, I would suggest, when he was being offered around during the transfer window.
"Then it became fairly obvious he was going to have to be loaned out and try and up his value again. He's gone back to familiar surroundings and it's where the Welsh national team are set up so I think that played a big part in him going there. With what they've assembled, I think he could prove to be a very, very good signing at this level.
"I think there was a little bit of talk about Swansea being interested and, for me, that fits him better. But game time is the most important thing when you go on loan."

What the hell is Andrews on about there ?
We play much more high tempo, direct and get the ball in and around the box which really suits Wilson's qualities. He's a direct footballer and I don't see how that fits with Swansea's style at all. Of course, he's good enough to adapt to most styles but to say Swansea fit him better is a strange one.
Anyway, it probably came down to who he thinks are going to challenge for promotion this season. He's obviously a very perceptive and intelligent lad![]()

If we get promoted I’m sure we’ll bid for Wilson, perhaps £15 m plus another couple of million if we stay up also we’ll bid for any other successful loanees, it’s the way to go rather than shelling out millions on hunches that are often disasters?

Liverpool turned down 16 million preferring him to go on loan so i doubt 15 mill is going to impress them.. the theory of signing players youve had on loan and who have worked out for you is good and makes sense.. the downside being the fact the selling club knows this and will almost certainly push the price up or if they have really set the world on fire their parent club wants them back as happened with a couple of the players Leeds loaned in last season..

At the end of this season Wilson will be in the final year of his contract so the £15m for him is not so far fetched
