MY VIEW / OPINION

FROM BEING TOTALLY OUT PLAYED / TO A SECOND-HALF DISPLAY THAT GAVE CARDIFF A DESERVED DRAW AT HOME TONIGHT.

Cardiff are still struggling at home but after such a non display in the first-half Cardiff will be happy to take a point tonight.

Cardiff City had not lost their opening three home league matches of a season since the 2007 campaign under Dave Jones and a draw tonight prevented that from happening :bluebird:

Neil Harris made Four changes - Joel Bagan & Harry Wilson_ made their first league starts. Will Vaulks & Robert Glatzel also started.

No Lee Tomlin and Moore was dropped to the bench.

Bournemouth's, Josh King and David Brooks were not been deemed fit enough.

FIRST-HALF Bournemouth had 5 shots on target & 69% possession, City 0 shots on target and 31% possession.

CARDIFF CITY 1 BOURNEMOUTH 1 :bluebird: :bluebird:
H/T 0-1

Cardiff City: (4-2-3-1): Smithies; Bacuna, Morrison, Nelson, Bagan; Pack, Vaulks; Ojo, Wilson, Hoilett; Glatzel.

Subs: Phillips, Benkovic, Bamba, Whyte, Ralls, Murphy, Moore.

In the first 20mins,Bournemouth had two shots on target, City zero so far even though City had played well.

As the game went on, Bournemouth started to take more control, with Smithies having to make a couple of saves.

36th min Cardiff City 0-1 Bournemouth (Solanke 35)
A slick, slick move from Bournemouth, Jack Stacey found with a lovely ball down the right and he crossed a ball across the face of goal,Solanke was just six yards out and bundled it in to easily, City were totally carved open there and were being totally outplayed.

It was virtually all one way traffic by Bournemouth, with City not getting one shot on target.

H-T 0-1

Bournemouth continued to dominate, creating chance after chance, with Smithies making a brilliant close save :thumbright:

Stacey whipped one in to Solanke, who looked certain to score from no distance at all, but Smithies, somehow, incredibly, tipped the ball on to the bar!

Cardiff came alive and had a couple of chances including a good free-kick from Harry Wilson, which was saved :bluebird:

62nd min Harry Wilson scored :bluebird: :bluebird: !

Junior Hoilett hit a low cross and it found Wilson just inside the area. He slotted it coolly into the bottom corner to level the tie 1-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

69th min Joe Ralls came on for Marlon Pack.

Bournemouth hit the bar.

Kieffer Moore came on for Robert Glatzel.

80th min Josh Murphy came on for Sheyi Ojo.

Bournemouth had a great chance in the last min, saved by Smithies.

Not a bad result in the end, considering how bad the first half was.

Much better in the second half and a good finish by Wilson.

But we seriously need to sort out our home form. We've been outstanding away, but very poor at home.

Big game against Warnock and Boro on Saturday.

Good second half.

Lacked the killer ball a bit I thought. Usual last 3rd nonsense.

Smithies is ok. It was their man Smith who went off. Crunching 50/50

I think most would have taken a draw before the game, keeps the momentum going albeit slightly. Really enjoyed some of the interplay between Glatzel, Wilson and Ojo. Smithies outstanding as per usual!

Smithies didn’t go off, Smith of Bournemouth went off. Good point in the end, last pass was missing for most of the first half but were getting into good positions. Onto Boro :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Thought Bournemouth looked a very good side without two of their best players. I can see them challenging for automatic promotion. Our old Achilles heel of being unable to pass the ball as well as the opposition and constantly giving away possession almost did for us. Still a good point against one of the best teams in this division and we kept going for ninety minutes.

Good result against a class side.Tomlin and the full backs back in and we have a decent side.
Don't know about anyone esle but on virgin media broadband the game was 90 seconds behind.Annoying :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I Thought there were a lot of positives tbf. Joe Bogan had a good game and found some good pass to get a move going. We're spotting the killer pass now, just need to complete. We pressed well and had a lot of energy about us.

1-1 against a good Bournemouth side to get our first home points of the season is to shabby :bluescarf:

We closed down very well tonight, starting from the top with Wilson. Quick to get in their faces, but admittedly tired in the last 10.mins.

I just think our working without the ball is better when Vaulks plays. He is like a Gunnarson with a footballing brain.
