It was great business yes. Did you expect us to never concede another goal with him in the side then?

what was the true figure? heard anything between 11 and 18 online.

11 seems on the skinny side to me, Mepham went for about that much to bournemouth.

11 up front rising to 15.

About right I would have thought. He has a horrendous injury record for someone so young.

No I didn't expect you to concede another goal without Rodon, indeed I fully expect you to concede a lot more :ayatollah: :occasion5:

No, I expected you to concede fewer goals as he's a decent player, 11 million is low, you must have been desperate, as another good season and his value would have increased, plus you would have had the benefit, still that's the problem for small selling clubs.

With four games 3 wins - 1 draw - 1 goal conceded - Swansea fans bragging how well they've started
Without two games 0 wins - 1 draw - 3 goals conceded - Swansea fans nice and quiet and realising he papered over a few cracks.

Says it all really

I wish we could get that sort of skinned money for our players! I reckon 5m for either Morrison or Murphy would be tops?

What is your opinion on Cabango purely from a Welsh perspective, he was marking my mate 2 years ago when Cambrian turned TNS over in the cup. Crazy how far up in levels he has moved so quickly. Do you think he has the potential to make it?

My opinion (for what it’s worth) is that he may be found wanting this season as I don’t think he’s that good a player at the moment. My opinion.

Watched the cov-jerk game last night, and the jerk defence were a shambles! Great to see mind.
Plenty of fans on the jerk site wondering how they never lost and slating their team.
Long may it continue :occasion5: :occasion5: :occasion5:

Knowing Levy the extra 4 million will be dependant on Spurs winning the World Cup.

What do you mean “were bragging”? We have had an excellent start to the season, we have lost once so far and sit in 5th.

Rodon has been with us since he was a kid, it’s not someone we recently had last season. We have had plenty of matches without him, he wasn’t even first choice for some games with VdH and Cabango sometimes being preferred when we played 2 CB’s.

He is a good player with excellent potential, but to pretend he is the reason we have a decent defence is laughable. But not unexpected. :laughing6:

Centre halves are very important, take away a good one and replace with an average/poor one and you will concede more goals, we will see this at Liverpool also this season. I would hate to lose Mozza for the same reason.

It says nothing.

Every position on the field is important. Like I said, to think he was the key to our defence when he hasn’t even been in the side half the time over the past two seasons is ludicrous.

Are you saying if we kept Rodon then that form would have continued then? So a record 46 goals conceded all season, 34 wins, 12 draws and zero losses and a total of 114 points.

Wow

It's only Rothies opinion, go on the jack sites, and see how most others feel about their defense without him.
Rothie just on here for argument's sake, a bit of a nutcase if you ask me.

Exactly losing your best defender is always bad news, Liverpool are in the same position due to injury, and it will definitely cost them points!

Yes and I’m disagreeing.

You stating how we did in our first 4 games is a bit of a useless stat really as you are clearly not claiming that we would have kept that up all season with or without him. Unless of course you think we would have conceded 46 goals all season and broken all records including a 114 point Championship win.

The biggest loss to our team has been the injury to Morgan Gibbs-White as his creative spark is almost irreplaceable.

We have brought in two excellent replacements for Rodon in the form of Ryan Bennett and Joel Latibeaudiere both from the Premier League (Bennett with 50 games under his belt for both Wolves and Leicester in the last 2 seasons).

Well I don't care who they are, your defence is letting in more goals without him, and you'll end up scoring fewer goals without Brewster, you've got a weaker squad than last year  :occasion5:

We are playing different teams.

That’s why we were never going to only concede 46 goals a season and tally 114 points.

A bit like saying you finished 5th with Mendez Laing, now look what’s happened since. Awful decision to sack him as your form since sacking him has gone downhill badly.

But the truth is smaller clubs can’t guarantee 5th place finishes so the likelihood is that you wouldn’t have finished 5th anyway.

Re: Rodon - Great business

This time last year Roathie was posting that Baston’s goal scoring ability was too advanced for this division and he would prove to be a major goal scoring influence on their Championship campaign.
Ayew was so talented that he would be the best player in the Championship.

All evidence of his innate bias and over estimate of the qualities in the Swansea Town squad. He has very little knowledge of football despite his protestations,

For what it’s worth, I doubt Rodon will play twenty games for Spurs, he is slow and not a great tackler. He relies on defending his 18 yard box. Not sure that’s enough to be a Premiership quality centre back. Time will tell.
