NEIL HARRIS / CARDIFF CITY NOW HOLD THE BEST

Mon Oct 19, 2020 2:21 pm

Neil Harris has managed Cardiff City for 11months

And during his time as City’s manager

Our away form is the best in the English League :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluescarf:

Since Neil Harris’ first game in charge in November 2019

Sky Sports:

Most away league points:
Pts
34 CARDIFF CITY :bluebird:
32 Leeds
32 Liverpool
32 Millwall
32 Reading

Most away league wins:
10 CARDIFF CITY :bluebird:
10 Leeds
10 Liverpool

But our home form since last November 2019 is relegation form.

Anyone want to say what we are doing wrong at home?

My opinion is we are brilliant on defending away and then counter attacking and bang we sneak the wins, defence solid away .

Amazing at this time last year we couldn't buy an away win now we show everyone how it's done!

Taking the games so far at home it's to do with opposition setting up to frustrate city we simply dont have flair to break down 11 man defences, but with the addition of wilson and the new youngsters settling in think we will have the ability to break down teams. Also Hopefully our defence at home perform like we do away because that's another reason for poor home form to many avoidable goals given away.

Very strange to have such a good away record but a very poor home record.

I've always said that winning the majority of your home games and winning ten away games will normally be enough to get promotion from this league, obviously with the odd draw here and there.

We're doing the hard part very well, with already two away wins this season.

But as pointed out, we need to improve the home form drastically.

We are good away from home because we are very strong on the counter attack.

The problem is when we play teams like Barnsley, Wycombe, Luton etc at home and they just sit back, we have lacked the creativity to create something.

Hopefully that will change with the signing of Harry Wilson and once the likes of Lee Tomlin return to their best.

But it's definitely a big problem at the moment and it will be interesting to see if anything can change in that sense for the game against Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Exciting to see.

Always hard at home with the added pressure of having to get at the other team. Hasn't suited our style for a few years. But we've always been very hard to beat at home usually with the addition of the crowd.. So maybe that's why we're falling short. Really lacking the fight & spirit at the CCS.

Hopefully something clicks in the next few weeks.

Thats a great away record!! And without doubt we need to improve at home, but I noticed again this weekend,in the championship fixtures, only one home win, this has been happening since non attendance imo, lots of away wins nesrly every week now, seemingly no crowds are having an effect on home team?

A good home crowd can lift our players, and intimidate the opposition as well as maybe influencing the officials to an extent. No home crowd neutralises things, I'll be glad when we can attend again, hopefully this season. We could also try a more attacking formation at home instead of having a lone striker up against 4 defenders.

This is my thinking also, and we definitely need to change our style at home, lets hope we can, with the new additions.

This was a debate I put out just after start season it was very noticeable after lockdown and games restarted... it is no coincidence that home form is worse for vast majority of clubs.... undoubtedly with no fans to get on players backs or intimidating officials is having effect .

Ned, Bournemouth are not a team to sit back they will attack, so then we can catch them on the break, :laughing6:
I believe we will win 2-1 ( Hopefully) :ayatollah:

I think it’s a couple of things. 1 other teams sit back a lot more at our place with us having the burden of breaking them down, also we are trying to play a slightly different way and without tomlin we didn’t have the creative spark to open a team up who were sat deep. I also think it’s been a bit flat this year due to the fact we went so close last year and such a short turnaround and still no fans the performances have just dropped off %5 or so and as a result we get beat narrowly. I honestly think the signings we have made will lift the boys as they will be excited by the quality of Wilson in particular, it was also screaming out for some freshness and a bit of a change as with only the three new boys it looked a bit stale.
