UPDATED:

Swansea bid just been rejected by Liverpool.

Liverpool put a £1mill season loan tag on Wilson.

Swansea and Derby are now the favourites to get Wilson on loan as Cardiff drop out.

Swansea and Derby are the frontrunners for Wilson.

Swansea City and Derby County are the frontrunners to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, according to The Mirror.

Wilson, 23, had a successful loan period with Derby two seasons ago when the Wales winger helped them reach the Championship play-off final.

While Liverpool are thought to favour Swansea cue to their handling of Rhian Brewster last year.

Swansea City and Cardiff City would have to pay a loan fee of £1m, according to Football Insider.

They claim that Nottingham Forest and Derby County have already tabled offers to take Wilson on loan this season, while the Swans are thought to be in pole position to land the Welsh winger, whilst Cardiff are now looking else where.

However, any move for the Wales international would include the loan club having to pay a sizeable fee, with Liverpool "demanding a fee well in excess of £1m", Football Insider claim.

Time is running out for Cardiff manager Neil Harris as his desire to get up to four new players in by Friday looks thin.

Makes Callum Wilson an even better signing than Wilson as we would be paying a million quid for a player who would be leaving us at the end of the season an we won't be getting crowds back before the end of the season anyway. Seems to have gone very quiet on any signings anyway.

I've said it before, but I don't think Harry Wilson is going anywhere.

Personally I would prefer us to sign Cauley Woodrow anyway, if possible.

Wilson is very overrated. He's good at set pieces but his all-round play is actually quite poor. Whenever I've watched him for Bournemouth and Wales over the last few years, he has given the ball away in crucial positions on a number of occasions and often makes costly mistakes as well as receiving cheap yellow cards with poor tackles when it's unnecessary.

He'll probably go and score a hattrick for Wales tonight now

I'm confused.

The same Callum Wilson that joined Newcastle for £20m from Bournemouth?

It'll be one in the eye for us if swansea get wilson no matter what anybody says.

Why would it? Signing a winger is not a priority for us. We probably expressed an interest in the same way we inquired about Austin. £1 million signing on fee is also ridiculous in the current climate. The Woodrow potential signing is much more important as Tomlin is an injury liability.

Liverpool have messed up with this one

Another year less on his contract when he returns from the championship, although still 2 left then.

Google'd his salary apparently he is on £50k a week. I bet they'd want that paid up as well as the £1 million loan fee.

I can't see him being at us or the Jack in all honesty. Can he go abroad ? Who has that sort of money this season ?

Signing a winger is a priority as we clearly don’t have anyone who can cross a ball properly! Our whole midfield needs an overhaul. If they get Wilson to be fair they wil have recruited well.

Having seen the way he played tonight, they're welcome to him. He is no loss to us. £1m loan fee for him as reported is scandalous.

MOODY BLUEBIRD
heard all this before about swansea grabbing brewster brewster we did' nt need him just some young player from liverpool look how that turned out last season wilson bril for derby on loan and could be a bit rusty lack of game time but has nothing to prove
I certainly would be happy with him like god bless him whitingham on set pieces.

Why do we need to have same players they want? It's not a competition we get players we need and want, besides 2 other clubs besides us and them are in for him.... personally would not want pay 1m plus 50k a week for him!

That's the problem with many, Allan...

The rivalry is great for two games a season; but the reality is we are two teams with vastly different styles and ways of working only really connected by being 'Welsh' and sharing the same motorway!

Reports tonight that Liverpool have rejected a loan bid from Swansea for him, because they weren't happy with the finances involved in the offer.

As said above, Liverpool are willing to send him out on loan - if they can get £1m and £50,000 a week towards his £70,000 a week salary.

Swans bid rejected - reports

Liverpool have rejected Swansea City's loan offer for Harry Wilson, according to reports.

Swansea had been the front runners to secure the services of the wideman, although it's suggested the Merseysiders would want a loan fee of around £1m.

Swansea had hoped that Rhian Brewster's successful loan stint at the club last season would help sway Liverpool's decision in their favour when it came to determining where Wilson's future lies.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Swans have the finances required to make a fresh approach for the Welshman.

Wilson is currently away on international duty with Wales who take on Bulgaria in the Nations League tonight.

SVEN

My wanting wilson purely on his football talent the rivalry thing with swansea is purely that they seem to be able to attract better players and the fact we where both in for him
i said its one in the eye because of similarity and geography of both teams and other fans saying we cannot attract players to south wales region i am from mid wales so don' t have the rivalry you say some fans do
wilson was on top form under the now chelsea manager lampard at derby and the fact he is welsh is not the reason
it is perhaps we see more of him because he plays for wales and can draw a conclusion on his talents
Just like watching the young manure player levitt playing for wales the last few games and from what i have seen he is rubbish.

Being in for someone and showing an interest are totally different things. Our interest probably stopped when Liverpool said they want £1mill for a loan fee and wanted x% of wages covered. A lot of money when players in other positions are more urgently needed.
