The Bluebirds are keen to bolster their attacking ranks before Friday's domestic window closes and have identified Woodrow as a player who could prove a useful addition.
There has been contact between both Cardiff and Barnsley with regards to signing the player on a permanent deal this week.
It is understood that Woodrow fits the bill for the Bluebirds' recruitment department, given he is 25 and can be deployed either as a striker or in the No.10 position.
Neil Harris has spoken about wanting to add an attacker before Friday's deadline, with creativity having been a problem for the Bluebirds at the beginning of the campaign.
Cardiff, of course, have Bluebirds favourite Lee Tomlin within their ranks, however a number of injury flare-ups have prohibited him from gaining regular game time in recent months.

Would be an excellent signing if it can be done.

If this is true, then he'd be a top signing for us.

If this gets done I’m doing another Tan appreciation thread.
You have been warned Annis.

Think this would be a decent signing if it comes off... was he not in very good form at the end of last season? Averaging a goal in near enough every two games in his time with Barnsley.

Would be a great signing in my opinion. Different to tomlin in no 10 but players like tomlin at this level in our budget are almost impossible to find. What I like about Woodrow is that he will not drop deep as much and as he has played as a striker before he will get closer to keiffer which is what we are crying out for. Think this rumour has some legs, I don’t think we need Austin though. Massive wages and 31.

It looks promising and I'd take them both.

I must be honest, I don’t know much about Woodrow. We do clearly need more firepower up front though

I’ve heard of him but not sure of the type of player he is. Is he a fox in the box, creative, fast, tricky, good crosser etc? Anyone know?

Cardiff City are interested in signing Cauley Woodrow and have entered talks with Barnsley over a potential deal.

It is understood that Woodrow fits the bill for the Bluebirds' recruitment department, given he is 25 and can be deployed either as a striker or in the No.10 position.
The former England youth international, who spent eight years at Fulham before moving up north, had a stellar campaign last year, netting 15 goals in 42 appearances for the Tykes.
He has also started this season in fine form, too, it seems, netting twice in his six games in competitions so far.
Woodrow has scored 36 goals in 84 appearances for the Yorkshire club since first moving there on loan in the 2018/19 campaign, before joining permanently before the start of last season.
He has played up front and in an advanced midfield position for the club during his time at Oakwell.

Cardiff City and Barnsley 'quite far apart' on Woodrow valuation and it looks like either club wont give way.
Some reports say Cardiff value Woodrow at £1.5mill, others say less than a £mill, Barnsley want £2mill with add ons.
