The close of the domestic transfcer window is one week away, with Cardiff City and Swansea City keen on strengthening their squads in order to bolster their respective ambitions of a top six finish in the Championship.

However, with the current circumstances around the global coronavirus pandemic causing many clubs to tighten their purse strings, it's highly unlikley that either of the big two South Wales sides will be splashing the cash.

The free transfer market could well be attractive to both teams, and indeed the rest of the Championship, particularly given the number of players with Premier League experience available.

Here are some of the names up for grabs.

Beram Keyal

The 32-year old midfielder has left Brighton after a five-year stint, and was most recently on loan at Charlton. Previously enjoyed a similar spell at Celtic and has already experesed a desire to return to the Scottish champions.

Ezequiel Schelotto

Released by Brighton in August, the full-back has previously played for Inter, Atalanta and Sporting Lisbon. Has recently been heavily linked with a move to Besiktas.

Adam Legzdins

The 33-year old goalkeeper was brought in at Burnley to provide cover for Tom Heaton, but leaves Turf Moor having not made a single appearance in three years. The chance to rekindle his career in the Championship may well be appeal.

Oumar Niasse

A name Cardiff City fans will know well. The striker failed to impress after arriving on loan in January 2019 during the Bluebirds' Premier League adventure. The forward could thrive in the Championship, although wages could prove an issue.

Cuco Martina

A regular in the Premier League for two seasons after joining Southampton from Dutch side FC Twente. The left-back joined the Toffees on a free transfer in 2017, but gradually fell out of favour.

Nathaniel Clyne

A name that will be familiar to many due to his time at Liverpool. The full-back has failed to topple Trent Alexander-Arnold as Jurgen Klopp's first choice full-back. Would walk into most Championship XIs but reports suggest Crystal Palace are the most likely suitors.

Andy Lonergan

The veteran keeper leaves Merseyside without a single Premier League appearance to his name, but does so on the back of glowing praise from boss Jurgen Klopp. Could well have something to offer in the second tier.

Rob Elliot

Impressed during his time at Newcastle United, but fell out of favour behind Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow. Would be a strong goalkeeping option for nearly any Championship team.

Jamie Sterry

The right-back came through the ranks at Newcastle, but failed to nail down a regular first team place, making just three appearances for the Magpies. Released after a disappointing loan spell at Crewe Alexandra.

Michel Vorm

A name familiar to Swansea City fans. Vorm was a popular figure with fans during his three-year stint at the Liberty Stadium. Has made just 13 appearances for Spurs since, but his experience would benefit most second tier sides.

Carlos Sanchez

Released from West Ham after making just six appearances in two years. Admittedly unlucky with injuries, the defensive midfielder will desperate for a new start.

Pablo Zabaleta

Probably an unrealistic target for most Championship sides given his pedigree and wage demands, but a team challenging for promotion might well stand a half a chance of convincing him in his advancing years.

Jack Wilshere

Would likely look to stay in the Premier League after leaving West Ham by mutual consent. Would need to take a substantial pay-cut on his eye-watering £100,000-a-week wage if he's to go any lower.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh

The Ghanaian defender has left Wolves after failing to make a single appearance during his three-year stay at Molineux. There's already been rumoured interest from the Championship, with Watford believed to be keen.

Will Huffer

A product of Leeds United's youth system. The goalkeper made just one senior appearance for the Whites. At 21, his best years are probably ahead of him, but he would still be something of a gamble given his relative inexperience.

Kamil Miazek

Was believed to be on the radar at Huddersfeld earlier in the summer. The Polish keeper came through the ranks at Feyenoord, but again is a largely unknown quantity.
