There were a number of positives to take from Saturday's draw up at Ewood Park, one of them being the growing partnership between the two young loan stars on the right-hand side.

It is fair to say that in the first few outings of the season, Jordi Osei-Tutu and Sheyi Ojo were just feeling their way into the side. They looked a little nervous and produced a few mistakes, the most notable being Ojo ceding possession to Reading ahead of their second goal last week.

But there were encouraging signs against Rovers that this partnership on the right is one which can flourish brightly this season.

Rewind to one year ago and Gavin Whyte and Lee Peltier were dovetailing on that right-hand side. While that partnership was more defensively sound, few can argue that the right flank Neil Harris currently has at his disposal is a far more exciting, attacking threat.

Osei-Tutu's defensive discipline has notably improved, while he also produced a few mazy, meandering runs upfield to begin counter-attacks, growing in confidence as he did so.

Ojo, too, stuck to his defensive tasks well, and also caused problems to the opposition defence with his skilful dribbling and penchant for shooting from range.

If this partnership continues to blossom, they could form a formidable right-hand side for the Bluebirds this term.
