Just been arguing with a guy on some wales fan page who seems to think he supports
Wales
Ton pentre
Ammanford
Us
The jacks
Newport
Wrexham
Now I’m a believer that you can only really support one team, you can look out for other results but how can you support us and the jacks and Newport

And that’s just Welsh teams. Probably supported Man U and Liverpool until today....
The answer is No,,, you support One club, through thick and thin,,, you get to watch them and financially support them only.

Tried it explaining this too him but because he’s older than me that automatically makes him more of supporter than me

even though I’ve done my fair share of Tuesday night away games with the city and those long trips up north

he could t grasp that to support a team you need to financially support them

His claim to being a Cardiff supporter was watching the reserves mind you

In the very early 90s there was a fella who sat in the lower grandstand who used to watch us one week and the Jack's the next.
I guess he was just a mad Football fan but I agree with can only really support one team. I think you can follow other Clubs as you say but ultimately your Club is your Club.

No. Also think you should have some personal connection to the club you support as well. Actually feel sorry for all the youngsters i see who support a top 6 club, just because their dads support them, but will never actually watch a game. They are missing out on so much. Wales in general is full of Liverpool and United fans. Very sad.
I know quite a few united and Liverpool fans who have never actually seen them play yet argue like they are the worlds biggest fans.

When I was at University in London (89-92) I would buy a paper on Saturday and pick a game to go and watch,at the back of my mind I always knew who I wanted to win.

I think most of us will agree we support 4 teams.
City
Wales
Whoever is playing Swansea
Whoever is playing England

Only if your welsh like myself, now of course no one wants to support rivals but if you take the jacks away from this situation then anyone would love to give support the lower league welsh sides like Newport or Wrexham. Of course both fans of cardiff and swanea are probably whether in secret or not supporting or routing for newport or wrexham to be where Cardiff and swansea are in the 2nd division or the prem.

No. Had a really annoying conversation with a QPR fan over the weekend who knows I'm a massive City fan, however also knows my boy is a huge Brentford fan.
Constantly talking about 'you' to me referring to Brentford. Had to remind him more than once I was a City fan.
Do I look out for the Bees results and hope they do well of course, its my boys side. Would I have wanted City to beat them in the playoffs had we met, 100%
Can only support one side, looking out for results for another side is an entirely different thing but ultimately supporting a team is far more deep rooted than just liking them, its tribal.

The guy must weigh a tonne wearing all those shirts on a Saturday!
I knew a guy from Penarth (let's just call him KC) who used to wear two rugby tops to games, so he could have the winning shirt on in the bar afterwards!
Personally, I believe you can only have a true love affair with the one club and it's Cardiff City for me
But it is possible to have an affection for another club that may have a place in your heart for specific reason; I have an affection for Spurs after I watched them and the emerging Glann Hoddle whilst living/working on that patch as a youngster. Not seen them (other than as a City supporter) for many a year but I still watch out for their results and cheered them loudly versus OGS' ManUre on Sunday

You love your wife, but the ladies in numbers 38 and 43 always catch your eye.

Exact same boat there Chris!
Grew up near Ninian Park and took Spurs as my ‘second team’ back in those days as all us kids were City fans but wanted a big team to ‘support’.
Due to contacts in London, I used to go up occasionally to watch them in the late 80’s and 90’s when Lineker and Gaza etc. were playing.
Again, I always watch then on TV and follow their results.
Mate, there’s only ONE team though and it ain’t Spurs!

My lifelong passion is Rangers with the City being my bit on the side.
