Arsenal and Spurs would be bigger than Chelsea in terms of support, and West Ham are in there too.

I'd say Norwich have over taken Ipswich. And we'll stay top in Wales aslong as Swansea don't achieve promotion. Those 7 years they had in the Premier league won them over a large young following most will move onto support Premier league teams but a lot will stick with them. We need to establish ourselves as a premier league team ASAP to dominate the football scene in Wales imo

Arsenal and Spurs get bigger attendances now...and both have over their entire history..
same can be said about Norwich and Southampton

yyep West Ham are in the 10 all time biggest English averages... actually above 6 and maybe 7 on that list { not sure about celtic }
wierd no one ever calls West Ham or Sunderland massive though..

Not sure where you’ve seen that because Spurs average attendance is 31k while Chelsea’s is 42k (since the clubs existence) Plus spurs obviously have a bigger stadium now while Chelsea stadium can only hold 43k also Chelsea have more honours and is certainly more supported around the world compared to Spurs and one more thing Chelsea’s average shirt sales is 4X more than spurs :)

42k since its existence ? mate they went 25 years straight from the mid 70s to end of 90s not having an average of 30k with it being as low as 12k in 1983 , and not even Man Utd have had an all time average of 42k .. maybe your looking at prem lge ave ?
no idea about shirt sales..

It’s dependent on how you decide “big”. Trophy cabinet, seasons in top flight, attendances, etc. Plus where do you draw the line in history? If a club has spent 50 years in the top flight but only 10 of those years came after 1940 are they bigger than a club that’s spent 40 years in the top flight but all of them after 1940.
As for trophy cabinet, both Leicester and Crystal Palace have never won the FA Cup so are we bigger than them.
Man United have won more trophies than Liverpool but Liverpool have won more Champions League finals, if you don’t count the Charity Shield as a real trophy then Liverpool have more honours. So if you count total honours or the prestige of the honours won your answer would change.
Newcastle have had bigger crowds than Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea for years until the first 2 expanded their grounds.

It’s all opinion based and you’ll never get everyone agreeing but the discussion is part of the fun imo :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Arsenal bigger than Chelsea,
Manchester City,Everton and Burnley at present bigger than Blackburn,
Southampton and Brighton bigger than Pompey,
Norwich bigger than Ipswich,
otherwise agree!

generally most fans of my generation used to go by gates. { no live tv , no tickets , no foreign fans } .. which is where my mind remains... i do understand other points though as clubs now make more money from non attending supporters than they do from those that turn up..

Brighton is a difficult one to judge... very good crowds since the new stadium but not up to much historically..

I don't think Southampton or Brighton fans will be happy either, both have bigger stadiums and larger attendances than Portsmouth but in terms of honours Pompey prob come out on top. How do you define which is the biggest club on the South Coast?

historically it would be Pompey... but Southamptons move to St Marys and spending most of their time in the premier lge since the move has changed that.. Brighton have never had very good numbers until the last 8 or so years.. suppose this question can have different answers depending on criteria.. it used to be simple, fancy watching a game , just go to it.. none of this membership / counting asian TV fans milarky....

What's the logic of Lancashire having a Lancashire representative as well as Liverpool and Manchester? Last time I looked both were in Lancashire. Might as well have West London, East London and North London. And East and West Midlands.

i did look the all time attendances... both clubs have had patches much lower than i thought tbh.. youd know a hell of a lot more about all that than me as i take next to no interest in the league
