He will be a squad player for them aswell. Looking at the Wednesday squad I find it hard to see how he becomes a starter.

He will be 1 of 6 strikers at the club including Jordan Rhodes, Josh windass and Kachunga, i wouldnt start him ahead of any of those players.

He will struggle to play a wide position as they have adam Reach , kadeem Harris and izzy Brown

Barry bannan is a cert to start every game in the advanced mid role

Not really sure where he fits in , he will find himself in the same position as he was here being a bit part utility player

If people are honest , he's a workhorse and gives 100% but he's not a great footballer . He does a job when needed and is reliable

Paterson has never been picked to play up front for Scotland. Will either score double figures this season too? Highly doubt it. Paterson was an option in certain games. Yes, 500k was cheap but what really is his worth? I don't think hes worth much more than that. Is he worth more than Moore who is actually currently playing the 9 role for his country?
Personally, I'd like to see a different option up front and will wait to the end of the window before I judge Paterson's sale.

you are all missing the point here. the difference between the two is one is a give all player who will fight for the badge to the end .the other is a peg selling scruffy one eyed ginger gippo.

One of the very few times I’ve agreed with you regarding a player.

Unfortunately Pato for all his effort was not a very good footballer, yes he was a good poacher at times due to his work rate. But he stopped so many chances from forming when he played up top and could get rarely make a simple pass.

If I had a choice of who to play for Cardiff out of the 2 in the OP I’d pick McBurnie every day. Based purely on footballing skills, it’s a no brainer really.
