Latest on Callum Patersons £500,000 move

Tue Sep 29, 2020 1:07 pm

I gather there is still a bit more work to be done with the Callum Paterson to Sheff Wed deal, meaning it might not get completed today, but its still looking like the deal will be done in the next 24hrs.

The 500,000 deal apparently has to be paid all upfront to Cardiff.
This will please Neil Harris as he wants to use the money to bring in a new player Asap.

Mean while there are now other clubs who are apparently asking about Paterson.

If there are other clubs let them have a bidding war

Other clubs would be interested because it is way too cheap

If he didn't play for us and he was going for that amount I would expect us to be in for him aswell

Way too cheap for a player that doesn’t have an ability to direct a header and looks totally out of his depth with the ball at feet? He’s not a striker, we don’t need him get shot and get someone who can actually play football. The guy is crap. And that is being kind. He’s loved by many because he’s all heart and I can’t fault that. However we need creativity and a player who can play a bit. We are lacking those and if we can get a bit more great but that’s about his worth.

That’s a bit unfair fella but I suppose you’re entitled to your opinion which I respect but don’t necessarily agree with.

That’s fair enough mate but tell me what’s harsh, the bit about headers or the bit about ball at his feet? Just asking.

Mr Potato look at the goals he scored in premiership, even Shearer commented on his goal against Southampton. Your comments are disrespectful.

But they are not, he scuffs the odd goal and yeah popped up with one now and then. But he isn’t prolific, never has been, he still can’t direct a header and is still crap with the ball at his feet. He isn’t worth more than we’re getting, if he was other teams would have come in and offered more. They haven’t because he isn’t a striker and isn’t a good right back which is a bit of a dilemma for a striker come right back. Shearer commented on his work rate and desire not his skill etc.

This team whether we like it or not needs dismantling and rebuilding. It’s got no quality, no consistency and warnocks legacy is starting to catch up with us. He went for work like players who had no ability to control a game. Now we’re left trying to rebuild after the wasted millions. But most people don’t want to believe it instead believing the likes of joe ralls and Calum Paterson are some of the best this league has to offer. They are not, the truth is we are thin on the ground when it comes to quality.

If our players were any good we wouldn’t have paid half of them off or be giving them away. We’d be making money on them. Proof is there to be seen, we are just trying to offload high earners.

Works hard and scored goals in the premiership. Best of luck with £500k to buy a replacement. I bet you think Murphy who cost £11 million who cannot work up a sweat but can sometimes gives the impression he has ability is the way to go.

If we didn’t want to sell then I agree the price would be higher but it’s simple economics if you want rid of something it devalues in cost
