‘Why couldn’t we keep this under wraps?’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans frustrated by latest transfer update

Sheffield Wednesday’s deal for Cardiff City’s Callum Paterson is reportedly taking longer than first thought with more work still to be done, which has drawn a frustrated response from many fans of the Yorkshire club.
Other Championship clubs have now started making enquires.
Reports over the weekend indicated that the two Championship clubs had agreed a deal in the region of £500,000 and that Paterson would join the Owls on Monday.
But no confirmation has come from either club, with Yorkshire Live’s Dom Howson revealing yesterday that there was still work to be done on the deal.
It is understood that the move remains likely but it is taking longer than Wednesday had been hoping for.
The Scotsman is a versatile player but looks to be joining the Owls as further reinforcement in their forward line and to replenish some of the physicality lost by the exits of Steven Fletcher and Atdhe Nuhiu.
The arrivals of Josh Windass and Elias Kachunga have bolstered Monk’s options up top but that still looks a problem area for Wednesday.

Warnock will step in and take him at that price.

ive been thinking that since last season ended but Boro do not seem to have cash.. and id imagine with a lot of these cheaper than youd expect deals that the selling club are not much interested in HP arrangements wanting mostly cash now ?

You can hardly blame teams outside the prem wanting payment up front (or as much as possible) as it's not looking likely fans will be attending games any time soon, which will put some clubs on a knife edge financially, and possibly a few will fold, and take any monies owed with them. Perhaps city should start a bidding war on ebay for him, with a fixed reserve of what Wednesday have offered

I think any championship manager would be interested in him at that price. Chronically under valued.
Can play just about anywhere, never stops, and happy to get battered and give some back. Warnock will be in for him no doubt. Weve been foolish to sell him in my opinion. Vassell should be first out the door, 20k a week for that crock

I’m just wondering will the deal fall through at Sheffield Wednesday and he’ll go elsewhere at that price got to ask who valued him at only half a million pound
