We paid £400,000 for Calum Paterson, and Hearts asked for 15% sell on any for the future fee which we agreed to.

That was his value with a broken leg and no knowledge on recovery potential. Their add was protection in case he could play again. Since then he’s excelled into a utility player. Not injury prone and a consummate young pro with a goals in him. Awful low value increase judgment.

Do people really feel Paterson is worth more than £500K in today's market.

He has had a catalogue of injuries both before he came to us and since. He's missed big chunks pf games in virtually every season with us.

He wasn't the most obvious player to sell but thinking about it why not if he's not going to be used and there was interest in him ?

Just drove into Costco, couldn't believe the amount of managers, CEO's and DoF's queuing up to buy Callum Paterson, i thought they were queuing for a Covid test.

Must be one hell of a sale at the City.

Its not the £500K that's the issue its the £3,000,000 in wages over three years for a utility player.

Warnock, bought Ethridge, Sol, NML, Junior, Nelson but Tan bought Madine, Glatzel, Vassell, Murphy, Bacuna, Vaulks, Pack,Flint, Cunningham, Whyte

Usual agenda on here.

At least we made a small profit on our 3rd choice striker unlike many of Warnock’s purchases! If it was such a bargain price why didn’t Middlesbrough take him?

BORO are skint.

You can down Warnock all you want .

Got us promotion and brought in nearly £200mill by doing so, took us on when we were crashing down the Premier League, a couple of true facts for you :thumbright: :bluebird:

£3m over 3 years is a big saving on someone , who may play 15 games in that time .

£400/500k is the right fee for Pato

I know he’s a fans favourite because he’s gives his all and is a bit of a lunatic, but he doesn’t actually have that much ability

He was going to be 3rd choice striker possibly 4th if Mark Harris keeps improving and he was never going to a regular starter

Getting half a million for him is actually a half decent bit of business. Who we get in to replace him will decide if it was the correct decision to sell him or not

I think in this Covid era, we just have to accept that clubs below the Prem are going to struggle big time. Pato is a massive burden on the wage bill and is not a first choice player under NH. I’m disappointed, but that’s the way it is now.

500k feels about right to me in the market as it is now. As been said the wages off the bill is huge....as much as i like paterson he has limitations and certainly if we are looking to improve we need better. Good luck to him and right move by club

Paterson was signed on a free as his contract had ended and as he was injured a new contract was not offered. I seem to recall that we may have paid money as compensation ( what for I am not sure } If we did then I seem Have in my head a figure around the £100K mark

Ps if I am correct then I do not think that his club would be able to put a clause in as he was out of contract, but City may have agreed a sell on clause.

Did well to get us promotion but he also got us relegated and any profits blown on bad buys, big promotion Bonuses for him and all staff and then left us struggling in the Championship! More true facts!

To be fair we got our money back on a player with no technical ability and who heads the ball worse than Leo fortune-west. To be honest get rid move on, he’s a fans favourite because he’s all heart. The reality is we need better. I doubt we’ll get it as our scouts are shocking but we need wingers or a solid midfielder not a striker who isn’t a striker.

Patterson is not a striker never has been never will be! Scored few goals 2 yards out and jumps about and falls over more than grealish does that's it? (21goals 106 appearances) If you think we are slow going forward now with him in team it'll be twice as slow.. but guess people are happy to see him sit on bench pick up 20k a week in prefence to selling him? Yet want sell glatzel
and lose far more money!! That is real good buisness sense.

Yes, we got Moore - a natural CF. Ward was injury prone and very inconsistent, check his stats since he's been here.
