Are you closer to any new signings?

NEIL HARRIS:

“Uh, no.

“I don’t mean to be short or funny with it. We are in the sense of information, hunting. I’ve been speaking to agents, clubs, seeing who is available.

“We will not be signing anyone before the weekend that’s for sure.

“From my perspective we could do with adding to the group, I always want options.

“I want different types of wingers, centre forwards, No.10s.

“I just feel maybe we could add to those options and it could benefit us.”

Completely different tone from him today.

Only a couple of weeks ago, he was saying he was happy with his squad and not really interested in making any new signings.

Exactly and saying it was big and full of quality even we could see it was not Ned.

The problem is Ned, Harris has taken on the job and I don’t know what they promised him, but he is not going to be able to strengthen with any money at all.

We have just received about £36mill in parachute payments and will get extra sky monies this season, but I will be stunned if they give Harris any of it.

Harris has reduced the wage bill by £millions, but if we want promotion our squad 100% will need to be strengthen.

If we want midd table then this squad is ok.

That’s the truth of the matter and Harris is starting to Spk out.

Sadly true Annis.

Sounding like Harris is starting to get a bit pissed off with the board, so you're right and they probably did promise him more money to spend.

Didn't he get the job after being told to trim the wage bill, lower the age group and bring through the youngsters?

Probably agreed he'd have little to spend

He did, but after getting us do close last season, Harris deserves more backing and probably thinks he deserves it himself.

Sky reporting that Cardiff have enquired for Knockaert. That would be a good signing and would replace NML nicely.

I agree. Though he has continually said he is happy with the squad until now.

Some fans need to be realistic. Yes the club has had money coming in but what about the outgoings? I'd be happy not buying another player if it meant the club is safe financially through these tough times. For me thats more important

No doubt it's an ever-changing situation, we all know he would get in players if the board will allow it, if they won't he will tow the line and say we didn't get them in because the squad is good enough, if he came out and said Tans a prick and won't give me any money he would given the boot.

I'm pretty sure we will get at least two more in, the board will back him!

all my life ive thought managers should say it like it is and not pretend things are A-OK just to toe the line.
but if ever there was a season id accept the later..this season is it.. im watching 100 year old businesses go to the wall so my Cardiff City priority is to just still have a club in a years time and tbh if Harris was jumping up and down demanding in this climate he would be looking a bit of a { put your own word in }.... if we spend or bring players in fine if not i think we just have to be happy to have a club..

Stop being sensible, though if you say it like it is in any job you won't last long.I don't suppose anyone signed up to manage under covid but I think this fella knows what he's doing.I would see Knockheart being a direct replacement for NML if it happens although they might want to tie us down with a purchase after loan deal like we had with Reid but I can't see us going for that.

ive always thought it short sighted for football managers .. its generally a very short term job within a short term career and invariably it ends up being seen as the managers fault if results are poor because the squad isnt good enough...
