Chance for Reading.

Liam Moore plays a long ball right down the middle, between the two City centre halves, and Lucas Joao gets a head on it. It's low and straight at Smithies, though, and he gets down well to save.

First chance by Reading

Deserves it

Junior Hoilett goes into the book. A very professional foul takes out Ovie Ejaria as he looks to break down the right.

Gone very quite, not much happening from both teams

Will Vaulks fires in a cross towards Kieffer Moore, but Michael Morrison intercepts, heading it out for a corner (but he almost found the back of his own net!).

We are just a few quality players away from a promotion chasing side. We play some nice stuff and our ball retention is decent. Just lacking that cutting edge quality to break teams down.

City now putting a little pressure on Reading :bluebird:

Pack stands up a cross to the back post but Morrison's header is wide.

Still 0-0 after 26mins

Osei-Tutu slides an excellent ball down the wing after Moore had made a clever run.

The striker hits a first-time cross into Leandro Bacuna, who doesn't quite connect with his volley and Cabral gathers.

Pack finds Cunningham with a precise ball down the left and the full back hits another first-time cross, this time Moore is the target.

The striker rises highest but so, too, does the ball as it sails over the bar.

Cardiff now looking the better side and starting to put it together :bluebird:

Brilliant from Bacuna, forcing the corner from Liam Moore.

Ojo delivers and it's cleared.

The ball falls to Osei-Tutu but his shot is miscued and over the bar.

Penalty appeal!

Olise ghosts into the box and first Morrison and then Osei-Tutu have little nudges on him.

Referee Webb waves away the Royals' appeals.

38 mins gone still 0-0

Not a great match over all

Olise swings in a corner and Joao meets it with a header, but fires it wide.

Save! What a good save that is from Smithies.

Lucas Joao capitalises after a miscommunication between Marlon Pack and Greg Cunningham.

The striker gathers the ball outside the area, turns Morrison easily and unleashes a venomous strike from 20 yards.

But Smithies gets down low and tips it away. Best chance of the game so far.

"nearly" is the word....We nearly made a killer pass, lots of passive, stat building triangles in out own half, We nearly had a chance and they nearly scored (we haven't looked close)....

Really disappointed with the wide forwards, not sure what they are there for. They don't, can't or won't cross and they are not close enough to Keiffer.

As Morrison done anything worthwhile? Looks dodgy/hesitent at back! does fck all at dead ball situations even though he's only player we aim for? And didn't realise hoillett was playing half the time got moore out wide collecting balls where hoillett should be.... extremely poor performance so far.

We don’t seem to have much of a game plan in attack. Moore hasn’t really had any service, but he’s not coming to look for the ball and he’s run the channel once. Pack is dictating the game quite well in the middle but when we get it out wide we just seem to go backwards. Osei-Tutu is finally looking a decent player after his poor start.

Pretty much spot on and the same was said of (Keiffer) Moore the game before last

Half-time roasting and City will pick the game up in the second half :ayatollah:

Could always be worse, as Wayne Rooney's Derby County wishing it was snowing again right now...!
