There was a palpable excitement surrounding Kieffer Moore's transfer to Cardiff City.

Neil Harris spoke incredibly enthusiastically after snatching him from the clutches of other Championship rivals, many of whom were prepared to offer more preferable financial terms, and Bluebirds fans shared his optimism.
I was quietly confident that Moore would fare well in a Cardiff City shirt, however after the Sheffield Wednesday defeat, I was left concerned by the manner in which the Bluebirds attacked the Owls' goal.
They provided no service for Moore and gave him virtually no opportunity to win his aerial duels and pose questions to the opposition defence. When he was afforded the chance he headed a free-kick narrowly wide, that was the best chance of the game.
Against Forest, though, it was a different story all together.
Cardiff, importantly, learned from their mistakes and utilised Moore to his full capability.
For his first goal, he rose miles above any other defender and drilled his header low and beyond the grasp of Brice Samba, a proper striker's goal and one which fans, sitting in their armchairs watching along, will have loved to see.
The second was a proper poacher's goal, but again came by virtue of a set piece (a long Marlon Pack throw-in - did anyone else know he had that in the locker?!).
The ball was cleared, Leandro Bacuna nodded it back in, Sean Morrison flicked it on and Moore, right on cue, poked home at the back stick.
My optimism is very much restored now. If this is how City are planning on feeding their big striker this term, he will grab a bagful of goals.
He really could be the difference between play-off contenders and being within a sniff of the top two. That is how important it is to have a striker who can get you 15-plus goals in a Championship campaign.
