Censorship by Omission -Shocking Reality of the USA

Tue Sep 01, 2020 8:12 pm

Censorship by Omission is one of the long-standing means of censorship and method of ‘controlling the narrative’ or ‘news management’ or creating and maintaining a structure of awareness for the mass of people. In my view and those of many others the BBC are particular experts in this approach although they are not alone. The homogeneity of broadcast and press news is in the UK is quite remarkable. The media ‘talking points’ and their associated lines of direction are consistent and again can usually be spotted without too much thought and attention.

I give you one very recent example of a large demonstration/procession in London’s West End on the 20th August which I think it is safe to say was not widely reported:

In the context of Covid 19 alone I thought it should be worthy of news comment but on the other hand there are reasons why editors/organisations may have decided not to cover it i.e. censor it. I’m sure they have an answer.

On a parallel theme but showing the other side of ‘news management’ which borders on downright propaganda I have been struck by the common theme of the strident BBC/ITV/Sky coverage of the US political scene over the last few days. Attacking President Trump is their stock in trade so nothing new but very noticeable all the same.
This coincides with a media push for Democrats/Biden, which in my view is so biased as to be laughable. They have to pretend not to know so many things to present this with a straight face.

I had a couple of photos which I couldn’t post to illustrate the point but watched this Tucker Carlson report on twitter which very eloquently and quite movingly tells the story of what is really going on in the USA – almost here now.

I strongly recommend you watch this – parts one and two – all of it.

This is truly shocking and shows how depraved and ruthless the Democrat politicians (and their paymasters) are. And somehow the BBC and the rest simply ignore it and even worse push their propaganda.

The BBC and sky have been doing it for ages ,there biased reporting on the Brexit and the last election was shocking I don't know how they get away with it,CNN are the same with trump they always twist it so trump looks bad ,with the BBC I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to pay for there biased reporting .

youd expect reporting on an epidemic to be on the level though.. this has not been.

The states are at least a decade maybe more ahead of us in terms of news media, buts it’s not a model we should want to follow, but inevitably we will take elements as the world is so global nowadays. It stopped reporting news a long time ago, fact with some background. Now it’s all about commentary or interpretation from their “experts” presenters. Tucker Carlson or Racheal Maddow not sure which one is the maddest but I wouldn’t believe either of them even if my life depended on it. But this is the kicker, it’s to their own audience of fanatics, neither of them, however convincing an argument changes anyone’s opinion, as their audience laps it up.

I do not think the BBC are politically biased, both sides accuse each other of bias, so I am not sure how that can be. Undoubtedly (IMO) its socially very liberal or progressive and that may upset conservatives but the new Director General is making the right noises to curb that. The thing that concerns me at the moment with the BBC news is their desire to “mansplain” every event with their chief editor or reporter. I don’t care what you think this means, I’ll work it out for myself !! Laura Kunsburg is the worse for this where we spend minutes with the host asking Laura to explain it to little old dull me. Its just her opinion !!! Not facts. This is where the accusation of bias comes from.

Sky are another beaut at the moment. To say they are Piers Morgan hysterical about things is an understatement but ever since Comcast (NBC in the states) took them over there has been an editorial shift to sheer hysteria.

How CNN and RT are allowed on our airways is beyond me. One is a state sponsored propaganda machine and the other one is the US democratic party mouthpiece. No bias there at all ???

There are two deciders in the US election. Can Biden last the debates looking compos mentis and how many people say Trump is a dick, but still vote for him when they get to the secrecy of the booth ?
