When is Swampy coming to Cardiff?

Sun Aug 30, 2020 4:24 pm

I read somewhere that the great unwashed of Extinction Rebellion are planning disruptive action in Cardiff over the weekend.

I wonder what they're planning?

They can't f**k up the traffic in Castle Street with their boat like they did a few years ago because the Council have already seen what a great idea that was and filled Castle Street with tables and umbrellas in order to piss off anybody with a car.

Perhaps they're going to protest against the damage caused to the environment by millions of discarded coronavirus riddled face masks from all over the world which will be making their way into landfill or the oceans or the greasy slick of billions of gallons of anti bacterial gel that will soon be covering the oceans.

With all the reports of how the seas and rivers have never been clearer since lockdown and the skies being clear of pollution they'll probably be claiming that the virus has been great for the planet.

They could set up under the flyover.. that’ll clam it up completely.. and the Police can practice their dancing skills again.
Most hand gels are alcohol based, and miscible in water..

ER must be a bit behind the times. The city centre is dead - they have got their wish. Castle Street now shut for the next 1.5 years. The council have done their work for them. They could always come and park their boat outside the castle to let kids play on it. This is the same boat that was towed into the centre by a diesel van.... ;)

You cant get from east to west in Cardiff now without going via Cathedral road / Gabalfa or via Cardiff Bay.

What did ever happen to Swampy ?
