Jeff Stelling:

Thanks for all the messages of support - and even for most of those who have a different view as I believe in free speech. So far no discussions have taken place, no decisions made. Only I know what I am thinking but it is important to listen to all arguments. Thanks again

Absolutely agree. He’s a quality presenter who entertains with a bit of humour too and god knows we all need a bit of that.

I remember when a guy called James Brown scored for someone - he must have been prepared for that to happen for ages as he pulled out a singing JB toy and ‘ I feel good’ blasted around the studio with him hugging away

The chemistry between all the pundits is clear to see and the oooohs and rrrrrs when theres a goal or incident is brilliant... that is not going to happen with new people, to me it will be just a normal score roundup programme bit like bbc final score "boring "

I agree mate. I used to love watching in the pub if I was on holidays and hearing ‘There’s been a goal at the Cardiff city stadium....’ :o :o :o

He's a fantastic presenter.

A proper football supporter as well, he never gets through an episode without talking about the club he supports - Hartlepool United. I think he was made President of that club in recent years.

Not afraid to criticise the high organisations either - he has regularly been outspoken on air about the hierarchy of his own club, the EFL, The Premier League, the FA etc.

Doesn't have an ego either, and is always happy to speak to fellow football supporters.

Just like all of us, he's a real football supporter.

Will be a massive loss if he goes and I'm not sure anywhere near as many would watch that show without him.

He's also done a lot for Prostate Cancer awareness.

It would be an end of an era if Jeff leaves/gets sacked because he along with the others have made the nation laugh throughout the years they been working. It will be a great shame. But understands if he wants to walk away because other than Chris Kamara and Paul Merson who else does he have left to call his best mates.

If anyone has watched the highlights from Match Of The Day the people presenting did not feature a white male presenter instead they had 2 women and a black pundit. I guess this country has gone out the window with tradition. I see others joining the sack train such as Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker to be replaced by women or Ian Wright.

Call me old fashioned but I believe the job should always be given to the person best suited to it. Not on race, colour, religion or anything else.

That's a very outdated viewpoint unfortunately. Positive discrimination for certain members of society and against others seems to be the current order of the day.
