Highest paid player in the Championship?

It is claimed the highest paid player in the Championship earns £68,000 per week.
From a southern club, so not sure where the south/north border is but I would guess it is Fulham and the player is Mitrovic.
Anyone else guess who it could be?

It’s Tom Cairney he is on one of those ridiculous contracts where he is automatically the clubs top earner, remember reading about it 18 months ago

Tom Cairney is not a championship player. He got promoted with Fulham a few weeks ago. Andre Ayew is on around the above mentioned 68k

Tom Cairney is not a championship player. He got promoted with Fulham a few weeks ago. Andre Ayew is on around the above mentioned 68k
I think this is referring to the top earner in the season just finished

I think this is referring to the top earner in the season just finished
It would have to be as Mitrovic along with Cairney are in the same team

According to press reports at the time, apparently Derby matched the wage Wayne Rooney was getting at DC United in the MLS.
The press say that means he's earning at least £50,000 a week and there were reports that he also got a seven-digit signing-on-fee.
It's believed that most of his wages and signing-on-fee were financed by 32Red.
