Jamal Lowe joins Swans

Thu Aug 27, 2020 9:46 am

Lowe has signed for Swansea for £800k

I feel we may have missed out here.

I know we have four wide men already ; Murphy, Hoilett, Whyte & Mendez but I feel we needed someone fresh to come in.

Unless Jordi will be used right wing? Especially if we manage to sign Sanderson

I’m not sure he’s the player that many are tipping him to be. Would he join Swansea if he was??

i said this a while back... hardly a stampede of clubs trying to sign him.. and administrators in charge up there so a straight forward price and no boardrooms playing silly buggers with auctions..
i suppose only time will tell..

Administrators up here (in wigan) will want as much as possible to be paid in one lump sum.

This poses the question as to whether Swansea are using their entire fund on bringing him in?

not sure if they have found some investment or are gambling on selling Ayew , Rodon or both..

i got to say, their summer has been alot better than expected. before the end of the season, alot of talk about them having to let players go due to finances, but they seem to be signing some good energetic players which will suit their style.
hate to say it, but they'll be up there come the end of the season

If they keep their better players maybe. We mustn’t forget that they are replacing some players that they’ve had in loan so not really adding to as much as maintaining a squad.

looks like they have lost Brewster and Gallagher and probably will sell Ayew. good luck to them replacing that trio adequately with down grades..

they have signed korey smith, and gibbs-white,

so i dont think they will miss gallagher too much, but there is talks he wants to return on loan.
the Ayew one is the key, if he goes, then they have a huge job replacing him, but if he stays, i wouldnt be suprised if they have a good year

I’m backing them for mid table at best. Maybe a bit close to the bottom few possibly.

The papers are saying Arsenal are trying to sign Wolves right back Matt Doherty. If they do there is no chance Wolves will loan Sanderson to us as he will be wanted as cover if not first choice for them. Jordi played quite a few games for Bochum as a winger presumably that is when he scored his five goals for them. Useful to have a versatile player but obviously he is our only right back at the moment. Lowe would have been useful but with us having so many wingers a bit of a luxury given current circumstance. Most of the clubs in the championship will be operating with smaller squads than they like.

They've done nothing than replace loan players so come end season have to do same again? Not best way of building a team regardless of how good the young kids are..... cant see Brewster going back scored twice for pool in friendly and possibly lose good players like ayew, cannot keep replacing players with under 23 kids and expect to progress as a club

This in a nutshell

Re: Jamal Lowe joins Swans

I saw him play when he was at Pompey. He's very direct and quick but easily drifts out of a game. Best described as mercurial. He's a gamble and certainly not any better than what we have. Their season hinges on Brewster returning. He's way to good for the Championship. No Brewster and they will be mid table at best.

Fusilier, you don't half come up with some corkers, It's a FOOTBALL FORUM ABOUT ANYTHING FOOTBALL as you have said in the past.

For what it's worth I think you will be around the play offs at the end.

As for Lowe , think he's another Murphy , can be brilliant but no consistency.

Touche , it is indeed , just wondering whether you think your current squad can repeat last seasons form/finish , I think P Allen posted that we have a lot of kids in ours which imo is better than an aging squad who also will have to be replaced . not all ours but bringing in loan players whilst giving the U23s time to develop further and bring them in piecemeal has to to be more productive way of using the resources available, good example is Cabango . Moore will be the difference for you this year and I expect to see you top 6

I did indeed say that but did say they were good players also.....but the point is you are changing 5 or 6 players every season and that is obviously not good for team development or long term as every season need to start again is this just cheap option for club?.... What happens If ayew goes or Brewster doesn't resign (which I doubt) scored twice in friendly for pool! You lose the goals which is very hard to replace could see you struggle but expect to see you near top 6 if ayew stays :old:

Personally with Moore and RG think we will be top two as we we have a good mixture of youth and experience, would really like to see us get another playmaker to take pressure off Tomlin.

As for you 7th :laughing6:

I think their season will be defined by what happens with Ayew and Brewster. If Ayew goes and Brewster doesnt come back/isn't replaced, they won't be anywhere near the top 6. Even with Ayew, without Brewster they were drifting away from the playoff positions. As long as Brewster doesnt resign I hope Ayew stays and picks up his 220k+ a month. His wages alone must be crippling the club financially. Especially in these current times. Shame.

Said before he scored twice in friendly for liverpool that he wont go back as other premier clubs would like him but think stay at liverpool especially as he did score twice recently.... as for ayew can they afford him or can other clubs for that matter ! Lose both could prove disastrous for them.

Brewster's too good for the C/Ship so no surprise if he stays within the PL , Ayew yes he'd be missed but as we all know all players are replaceable. Regarding Moore you do know he's only scored 14 goals in three seasons , you want to hope he hits the ground running ;)

Forwards tend to be score most when got team playing to their strengths hence we have struggled past couple of years in that department.. hopefully moore will fit in with our style and score the 15+ goals we are looking for.. yes players are replaceable but can you replace the goals or in ayew case his link up skills and all round game?
