" Danny Ward Signs "

Mon Aug 17, 2020 8:01 pm

Following the expiration of his Bluebirds contract, Danny Ward has today signed for Huddersfield Town.

Having arrived in the Welsh capital in June 2017, Ward went on to make 69 appearances for the Club – scoring on 13 occasions – and was a part of our '17/18 promotion winning squad.

We'd like to sincerely thank Danny for his service and wish him all the very best going forward.

Not good business on our part, lost 2m on transfer fee, should have tried to sell him last season if we didn’t want to extend his contract. Same with Boothroyd,Ledley,Matthews etc, when will we ever learn? I expect him to score a few goals next season especially against us if he remains fit!

your talking as if its all that easy and the people making the decisions are idiots.. we do not know what players have or have not been offered , or if clubs have made offers for players that it was decided that the offered fee was inadequate..eg . with Ledley its well documented that when we had the offer it was decided to not sell as we had a shout of promotion and it was deadline day so unlikely to get a replacement in, the following window there was no such offer and then Joe refused to sign an extension which he was entitled to do..

We are saving £20,000pw on his wages or just over £1mpa and we saved on agent fees for his sale. Also we have no idea if there was any opportunity to sell Danny Ward last summer and even if there were offers they would have been nowhere near £2m.

i agree.. who knows ? maybe we even had small offers that were accepted only for the interested club to be not willing to match his wages..amongst other things..

We have a difference of opinion over Gareth Bale, but I think you’ve summed up the Danny Ward situation better than I ever could have.
