What a season

I spent many evenings talking to Dave and Gary Bennett.Me and my mates used to drink a lot in the Gatehouse Tavern, which was a part of the Crest Hotel where they were both staying at the time.They loved talking about city and always enjoyed a laugh with us-great blokes.

What a season

It was, Mike. The Bennett brothers were a class act and we were privileged to have them here even for a short while

I think ever Bluebird supporter was with the Sky Blues (the other CCFC) the day they beat the mighty Tottenham Hotspurs 3-2 after extra time in the 1987 FA Cup Final with 'our boy' Dave Bennett scoring the first Coventry goal

He had been a beaten finalist not long before joining us from Manchester City in 1981; apparently it was a no-brainer once he'd met the dashing young fella in the image above

Happy memories of both Bennett brothers; both of whom were genuine people, too!
