Well no offence,this has been the case since they were meant to be mandatory, nearly every cardiff bus I have passed,the majority of passengers aren't wearing them.and even in general,the number of people wearing them anywhere bar where they should be is all the rage I've noticed! Me? Not wearing one personally, but I drive, and don't do city centre,since they are heading you like sheep everywhere,online for me! Even have circular pig pens sprayed outside the castle!! And as for those who think having to wear one,even on a beach,in certain holiday destinations, good luck I say.I am hoping spain gets things under control, as was going to villa for 1st week in September, and thought it was worth the discomfort, as when I arrive at the villa, I can remove it,relax and catch a few rays,read a few books,and not have to queue for my allowed time at the pool/beach!! And just relax for 7 days,as one visit on the way to the supermarket is all that's needed for a week.

Unless you wear high tech masks with filters inside them masks like most you see are not 100% effective may prevent you from getting corvid but doesn't stop you spreading virus (expert view ) But the silly thing is people wear them outside where not particularly needed unless on Brighton beach in heatwave! Got more chance catching corvid from shopping if dont sanatise hands properly afterwards than catching it outside wearing mask or not.... the proof that they are not 100% effective is fact WG and others not made compulsory whilst others have..

Of course better than nothing but some people who are shielding dont wear them unless nessasary ! How do I know that? I take shielding patients to hospital appts and vast majority dont wear them in my car because they are uncomfortable to wear and they need to wear one more than most...
But does beg question if that effective why is it not made mandatory in every country or outside the house to prevent rise we are seeing world wide? Must not forget 80% of people show no signs of corvid so wearing a mask you'd have thought was essential in that case but obviously not..

Ps operating theatres are sterile germ free environments with high tech filtration so normal masks used are sufficient! on a corvid ward high tech masks that filter out things like corvid virus are used

As with most things it depends where you are, where I am it is compulsory to wear them anywhere in an enclosed space like stores, buses etc but it's not the same in every state so why would you expect every country to mandate something for it to be useful. When was the last time (if ever) that every country agreed on anything ?

As said ,just as many countries not compulsory, and in a lot of countries like China Vietnam masks were being worn long before covid, in fact in many courier it's pollution that is the reason people wear them.this argument will rage on,as now mask will stop droplets landing anywhere on your body,if as they say it is airborne. Therfore unless you strip off every time you enter your home, put whatever you wore straight in the wash,run and have a good shower,you are at risk!

I totally agree with you here, anyone with half a brain knows that normal surgical masks are effective but not 100%, but they do cut down the risks of spreading and catching Covid19 and as for the n95 masks, with filters, they are very protective to the person wearing them, but not so for other people, as the filter puts out very moist air which if the person wearing them has Covid19 that air would have the virus in it!
