STRIKER WITH PACE ON LOAN?

I wouldn't be suprised if we get some young premiership striker in on loan. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Is this just a hunch, or have you been told something? With Ward leaving and Vassell unable to be trusted with his fitness, we need someone pacey who can stretch opposing defences.

Moore, Glatzel and Paterson couldn't make the run Ward made for our Bristol City winner for example and Tomlin will need some good pace and movement up front. A pacey striker on loan would be a very good move and give us another option.

Surely the pace come from the wide players tucking in ?

I think Harris is committed to 4231 as there is no other way of getting Tomlin in

Up top Moore/Paterson/Glatzel
2 wides from NML,Junior (if still here) Murphy, Mazembe ? and whyte (although can't see him staying)
1 ACM - Tomlin........Maybe the U21's Harris or Mazembe. If Ralls is in there then its 433
2 sitters - Vaulks, Bacuna, Ralls Pack

then a back four

Most EFL clubs will be trying to rid themselves of peripheral players so there will be some bargains around whether that is season long loans from the championship. We need a starting right back and cover unless Cunningham/Bennett can play right back if required, everything else is pretty much covered.

A lot of young premier league players are not up to it, we just remember the one who end up at the top table. I prefer championship proven players.

That’s a pretty good squad to start off with mate. I believe Tom Sang is a possible no 10 but I may be wrong there. It wouldn’t be an absolute disaster if we just got a right back in imo and replace any possible outgoings.

Ultimately this squad finshed top 6 and was a goal or 2 away from a play off final. It is a squad that Neil Harris instilled confidence in to which started badly. We have a good squad its as simple as that. We are going in to a period now where the world has changed and there will be less money. We have already strengthened. YEs we lost Ward. But at best he was peripheral and we have replaced with Moore.

I dont think we need much surgery to our squad. Free spending Fulham have gone. The 3 sides coming down are likely to be looking to cut wage bills. We can be confident next season. We have a good manager and we have good players.

We need another creative mifielder ..with Tomlin s Injuries/ fitness record and a pacey rt back even if Sanderson comes if he gets injured Bacuna lacks pace at rt back

Ideally a right back who can also cover as left back.

I agree fully with your post. We have a pretty decent squad to start with but definitely need to do something at right back. Tom Sang must be promoted to the first team squad this season as a back up to Tomlin.

I was surprised that Bacuna has played most of his career as a right back even in the Premier League with Villa so he and Paterson are fine as backups but a No 1 required, Gunter?
Definitely need a starter for Tomlin who is better for a 30 minutes spell in the second half. Ralls can cover but is better further back with either Vaulks or Bacuna.
